Looking for the name of a show that aired during the mid 1980s in BC on the Knowledge Network. The only detail I remember clearly is that one of the characters, a young Nordic-looking girl, was a hemophiliac.
Early in his career, Conan O'Brien had Don Ho as his guest. Don Ho did a cover version of the Beastie Boys' single "Sabotage". This was the greatest piece of television history I have ever experienced. Is it available anywhere?

I have the vaguest of memories of a TV movie I may have seen around the mid-80s, possibly on public television. Could have been British, or at least set in the UK. It was somewhat creepy, at least it was to young me at the time. It was about a family wherein one of the boys had magic powers. My only real memory is a shot of this boy putting his hands into a kitchen counter as if the kitchen counter were soft clay or a portal to another dimension, drawing some material out of it, and making a little sculpture of an animal (lion?) Young me found that special effect surprisingly unnerving. I thought it might be a WonderWorks production but none of the titles seem to match. Ring any bells for anyone?

I want to watch Swedish television via the web, but much of the content is blocked geographically and available within Sweden only. I prefer free, but I'm willing to pay a nominal monthly/yearly amount. I did locate this company during my Google search - I don't know if this service is overkill for my needs. Is it safe to use a foreign proxy and would it be wise to install the proxy on a separate router? I have no idea how any of this works.
I've started watching Stargate: Atlantis. Does it...get better? [more inside]
Family legend states that my grandparents had their 1950's, smalltown Ohio house built from (adapted) blueprints they obtained by writing in to a television show. Is this possible? If so, which tv show, and is there any way I can get a copy of the blueprints? [more inside]

I would like to buy a home entertainment system. I would like to listen to music, watch television, movies, and play videogames. I would like to have Netflix. I would like to stream media from my network or the cloud. I want great sound but I am not an audiophile, although I am not averse to spending a lot on speakers. I do not want to spend more than 8 hours doing research. I will spend up to $2500-$3000. How do I attack this problem? Can you recommend specific TV's, receivers, speakers, or stuff like a Roku box? Can you recommend sites that provide easy to understand, objective reviews of equipment like TelevisionInfo? I do not want to hit the forums if I don't have to. Can you recommend specific configurations of equipment or point me to sites that supply this information. I feel like if I don't get pointed in the right direction, I am going to over analyze this and spend far too much time that I don't have. I just want a rocking home entertainment solution for my family that I won't want to upgrade a week later.

I'm trying to remember an old (most probably Disney) short feature or possibly an episode of "Wonderful World of Disney" which began with an opening narration, accompanied by pictures of each word the narrator says. I am interested in alternatives to traditional cable/satellite television. We only have one really bad cable provider in the area that I do not want to get cable from. Satellite TV is not what I want either for a variety of reasons. Netflix, iTunes and Amazon TV don't offer the shows I am interested in like Discovery Channel, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, news channels, etc. Is there a way to stream this kind of programming from the internet? I am willing to pay for the service but I cannot find anywhere legitimate to get something like this from. Thanks
