Best online teleconferencing options?

Help save my friend and the atmosphere from unwanted air travel! He works at home, for a company in another state; they fly him in several times a month for meetings. How can he persuade them that he doesn't need to go, that there's a teleconferencing app that'll work just as well?

He's a hardware design engineer, and his airline "commute" is costing the company many thousands a year.

cheap teleconferencing

I'm looking for a cheap reservationless toll-free audio-only teleconferencing provider. I don't need any frills, just a service where the moderator can dial in with a PIN, followed by the participants. It needs to be toll-free in the US, billed by the minute, no monthly minimum.

There appear to be about eight billion companies offering this at the moment, but I'm not having any luck finding reviews amidst the avalanche of spammy dreck that Google returns.

I don't want to have videoteleconferencing nightmares..

Help me find this free videoteleconferencing application I saw online a while back. I saw a videoteleconferencing application similar to this in nature but more of an ongoing project. It also had a full-screen mode and I believe it used either h.323 or h.264 video CODECs. I remember the author being excited about being able to send 640x480 video. It's not VLC, but a dedicated communications client that can be used for point-to-point VTC.

Alternately, if you can recommend ANY free point-to-point (no Skype, no Yahoo! - those require an intermediary) tool that will allow me to send and receive video I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Small Business Webinars?

I'm looking for an inexpensive webinar service which will also provide call-in teleconferencing. Any other good small business tools which will help with sales I've looked at WebEx, Go to Meeting, but they seem somewhat pricey for a small business wanting to show a PowerPoint presentation to 30-50 people at a time, with the possibility for the invitees to ask/answer questions.

I'm also interested in any other good small business tools which will help with sales of a fairly technical product, without the need of travel all the time.

Software for live collaborative annotation of web page

How can we enable multiple teleconferencers to share the same view of a web page, trade off control of a shared cursor, and overlay freeform annotations onto this page they're all viewing? Without making firewall changes? (IT is firm on that requirement)</strong This is for long distrance web development meetings. For example, Amanda in the UK could sketch over the logo with a few refinements to illustrate what she has in mind. When she's done, Boris in Vancouver would be able to tack on a couple keywords he'd thinks are important concepts to emphasize in the next draft. Then Carl in Atlanta could scroll the page downward, using the cursor to point out which of the features he does/doesn't want to keep. Everyone needs to be able to see this is realtime while discussing. Recording the session is unimportant, but it's got to be pretty easy for the non-technie conferees to install/use.
