I'm a pretty faithful sketcher of still life, birds and landscapes. But I can NOT draw faces for the love of the sweet baby jesus. Seriously the average seven year old can render a more accurate version of a person. Please help me learn how to draw faces properly - techniques/books/youtube/anything welcome!

MisterBen needs recommendations for a very specific kind of Indian cookbook – one that’s organized by technique, not by course or ingredient. Imagine if Alton Brown or Mark Bittman wrote an Indian cookbook. The idea is to learn reusable techniques and general concepts of what flavors are used together.
What he already has: Madhur Jaffrey’s classics, Raghavan Iyer’s “660 Curries”, and Vikas Khanna’s “Flavor First”, which are used as bibles. Almost all Indian ingredients can be found in our area, and he is comfortable at making his own masalas, so feel free to recommend books you might think of as advanced.

About 30 years ago, I had a cassette tape I used to help me go to sleep as an adolescent boy. It was relaxing music with an over-dub male vocal telling me to tense, then relax, muscle groups from my head to my toes. I would like to find it again now, to help my early teen daughter sleep. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

As part of an art project I'm trying to find out what substances and techniques can be used to deliberately deteriorate and decay raw unprimed canvas (no paint) or other materials (wood, plastic, wallpaper etc). Preferably I'm looking for something that can be put on to do its deteriorating work, then washed or somehow taken off again so that process of deterioration is stopped.

I am getting married in a month. I'm not keeping my maiden name or taking my husband's name, but choosing something entirely new (although somewhat rooted in tradition). I am absolutely dreading having to explain this to 150 guests at my wedding in 150 conversations with each one. What should I do?

I was recently listening to Achtung Baby in the car again, and remembered how much I loved it, and a lot of it was because of the sound of the drums. So, how did U2 and Brian Eno get THAT sound on the drums in Achtung Baby? Anyone know any specific pieces of kit or techniques that they used? Mics used? Drum kits used? So on?

I'd like to build some furniture without advanced (or possibly any) woodworking skills. Say I wanted to make a basic chaise (seems easy enough) or a
Stokke Ekstrem knockoff (harder.) What are some easy ways to put together some just-for-me modern furniture? For example, you can put together some simple stuff with PVC tubing, but it isn't very attractive and isn't that versatile. Are there easier materials/techniques to work with?
