HELP! My computer is connected to the internet, but the browsers (I.E., Firefox) will not open and websites!? I know I'm connected because my google-talk thing is updating my incoming mail in the toolbar (and my LAN is showing connected). I have restarted my computer a few times to no avail. What to do?

This may seem like a simple tech question, but I just purchased an external hard drive, as well as an enclosure, and when I turn on the enclosure my computer (windows xp) recognizes the new hardware (little bubble on bottom right), but the drive does not show up on my computer. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

What are the chances of actually getting caught using a P2P file sharing program such as BitTorrent to download pirated stuff? Is there more likelihood of getting into hot water depending on what you are downloading (i.e. movies,TV shows, music..)? Can anyone suggest a method of using BitTorrent that will avoid these problems?
