Which states will I have to file taxes in?

TaxFilter2007: I earned income at my job in StateA. However, all my bank addresses (permanent and mailing) are for StateB, where someone collects my mail for me. I used StateB for banks to not have to deal with remembering zip codes and changing addresses. Furthermore, I've worked in 2006 in StateC but didn't receive the last paycheck until 2007. Will I have to file state taxes in all these states? This is my first time doing my own taxes. [more inside]

Will the wrong adress on a W-2 be a problem at tax time?

We got our W-2's today and my address is wrong. The street number and name and state is right, but the city and zipcode are wrong. When this was pointed out to the office manager, he suggested scratching out the bad address and writing in the correct one. Will this be a problem? Would having the wrong address be a problem? The office manager seemed reluctant to fix it.

Self-Employment-Tax-Filter: I didn't expect to have much in the way of income from my consulting business in 2007... setting my deductions to '0' should've taken care of what I expected. However, I ended up making almost a quarter of my income by consulting. I understand you're not an accountant and you're not my accountant, but how can I end up not having to owe a ton of penalties for not having filed self-employment tax?

Cost basis reset...

Suppose that person A buys a stock that then increases in value, and then person A dies leaving everything he or she owns person B. Then under U.S. law the cost basis of the stock for person B is reset to the price at the time of the person A's death. Suppose now that I am the executor of person A's will. Does this tax benefit apply if I sell the stock and distribute the proceeds to person B, or must I transfer the stock to person B?

Tax advice in Raleigh?
