How to confront parents about an event which really hurt when I was younger and continues to plague my life/our relationship now (over ten years later)?

There was a study a few years back where they had two people meet and discuss a list of questions. The control pairs got a basic set of superficial interview questions (what's your name, do you have siblings, where are you from) and the other got a specially designed set of questions that increasingly went into meaningful, personal topics. At the end, pairs in the test group tended to report a deep bond with their partner and went on to become friends after the study. Can you find me the study and/or the questions?

I subscribe to plenty of podcasts, but sometimes have a hankering for live radio. So I'm looking for some entertaining talk radio to listen to while I fall asleep. Ideally I'd like to find some local (as in not nationally syndicated; specific location isn't important) radio stations that stream call-in talk shows around midnight Eastern time. I realize talk shows skew to the right politically, and I'm OK with thoughtful shows with a conservative bias, but not OK with ultra-right-wing screamers (e.g., Rush Limbaugh and clones). And I'm not too interested in shows that focus solely on politics.

Looking for a talk radio station that won't agitate me to bits, nor put me to sleep. Special snowflake details inside. Would wildly prefer radio as opposed to podcasts, TED talks, etc., as I'm at work, and sometimes I'm in the middle of something and I can't tear myself away to change the podcast, etc.

I realize there are about 1000 threads on podcast recommendations, but I'm looking for something very specific so I feel justified in starting a new thread. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a podcasts that aggregates audio content from other podcasts into a cherry-picked compilation. The closest I've found is NPR's Most Emailed feed, but I'd also love to hear some content from outside the NPR realm. Basically, I'm thinking of an audio equivalent of Longreads/Send Me a Story.

I am looking for one of those plush toys that you can put your hand up and make talk, like a ventriloquist's doll. Specificially, I am looking for a cat. Is there a particular brand that caters to such things? Years ago I seem to remember there were places where you could go in, choose the "skin" of the plush toy, then stuff it yourself, name it, that sort of thing.

I live in Washington, DC, and I'd like to get together with people and talk about interesting ideas, preferably somewhere where networking bullshit is kept to a bare minimum. I don't care what they do for a living or what big ideas they're fluent in, just want them to be interesting. Does this thing exist and, if not, how do I create it?

I have an Android phone and using Google talk to chat with my friends. I want to connect my Google talk to MSN Messenger and Yahoo. Do you know a good and reliable connector that I can use?
I know there are other clients such as Ebuddy/Meebo, but I prefer Gtalk since it is very reliable and I don't want the battery life to suffer by using another app.
I did some Google search, many instructions and lists are outdated.

How can I cultivate / find deeper conversations with people? In university it was always easy to find people ready to talk about philosophy, politics, psychology, etc. But now, as I have gotten older and supplanted myself into the corporate world, the art of conversation seems to have been lost. It would appear that most people are resigned to talking about kids, jobs, and pop culture. Am I just in the wrong social circles or does this type of small talk permeate our culture? I long to attend a French salon or dinner party whose primary purpose is the art of conversation. Where can I find groups of people who like engaging, face-to-face conversation? How can I steer people away from talking about what they saw on CNN and towards something with a little more substance?

Situation: 16.5 year old son, ripe with hormones. Also ADD & PDD-NOS, as well as depressed, which make him impulsive, resistant to authority, and Not So Good at social cues.
He's sending sexually explicit text messages to a girl, who's apparently willing to go right along. Even if we we permissive [I am, his bio parents aren't] he's not ready for it.
How do we talk to him?
