Because nobody likes airplane food

What is the ideal food to welcome someone home with after a long flight, keeping potential delays and an long commute from the airport in mind?

Bonus points for late-night Boston/Cambridge delivery recommendations! I'd love to have a super tasty meal waiting when my boyfriend gets back from Europe in a few days, but besides stew, does anything still taste good after sitting for several hours? Without a car, picking him up will take me at least a couple of hours round trip, so while I like cooking, I'd rather not have to, given all the time and stress unknowns.

He's expressed a strong interest in almost any manner of Asian food, so while I'd be more than happy to just pick up some Chinese or Thai, I'm worried that a late arrival on a Sunday night will seriously limit our options. He really does not want pizza, and eating at the airport seems...non-ideal. I thought about stashing some sushi in the fridge, but that seemed iffy with the timing. Are there any take-out/delivery options that lend themselves especially well to reheating/eating cold? We're near Harvard Square, if that helps any.

Feed us in Frederick

Seeking great food in Frederick, MD area! We're looking for one or two tasty places to 'cater' (i.e., takeout) our small, laid back rehearsal dinner north of Frederick. Preferably casual food with a regional flavor. The internets are not offering up a lot--can you help? Our ideal menu would have (inexpensive) regional food, like crab or Maryland fried chicken, but we're open to other ideas, and we're not scared by hole-in-the-wall restaurants. The dinner itself won't be onsite--we're doing it at a cabin in Thurmont--so the space isn't an issue either.

We live an hour south of Frederick, so we can happily go taste-test any suggestions. Doc Geiser's? Rubes Crab Shack?

I freeze, you freeze, we all freeze for banh mi...s

When you're in NYC and it's winter, where do you take your food to eat when the place you're buying from doesn't have seating? Yesterday I ended up sitting on a bench freezing to death for some banh mi, and figured there had to be another [read: warmer] way. Usually I run into this problem in the Chinatown/Little Italy area, but suggestions citywide are welcome.

Good take-out/delivery in Chicago?

Good Chicago take-out/delivery (particularly near the west loop)? We recently moved to Chicago and live in the west loop. There's a lot of good restaurants near us on Randolph, but we've been unsuccessful in finding good standard delivery food -- particularly Thai and Chinese, but other things would also be good. What are the good take-out/delivery places near us?

Takeout Delivery in Vegas

Vegas Filter - Opinions on take out delivery services in Las Vegas. A group of us in the Northeast need to help out a friend who lives in Vegas, and we thought a gift certificate to a restaurant delivery service would be an excellent choice - The two big ones I'm familiar with, Dining In and Takeout Taxi, aren't active in that area. I Googled and found On the Run and I was hoping anyone that's used them could comment on their experiences - Is it a worthwhile gift? Bonus points if any Vegas MeFites have any other leads or suggestions for something similar - Thanks!

Salvage color LCD

I have this graphic LCD from either a pixter color or a leapster toy and I'd like to use it as a display, unfortunately..... I can't find the pinouts, or anything close. I had once previously found a similar display's datasheet and the company that made this thing (The marking on the PCB is a sortof W - with the second leg being rasterized or mad up of small horizontal lines). The other markings on the back include
94v0
0336
WD-X16161 PCB-1
WD-X16161-6CLWa
07182311AT
41A14/03

There is a ~20 wire ribbon cable running from the PCB, though I'm sure some of these were for the touch sensitive portion (unneccessary for my purposes).

I realize that this is a shot in the dark, but this is a nice LCD and I'd hate to see it go to waste, considering similar units for prototyping are quite expensive.

to tip or not to tip

Take-out orders: do you tip, and if so, how much? I was short on cash today at lunch and used my debit card to pay for my lunch-to-go at a nearby sandwich place. The bill was $6.75- since it was just a “to go” order from the counter, I put a dash through the “tip” line on the voucher and wrote in $6.75 on the “total” line. I just happened to check my bank account later, and my account has been debited $8.10. My copy of the voucher clearly reads “6.75” but I can see that it wouldn’t be too hard to make the numbers look like “8.10”.

$1.35 isn’t a large amount of money, but I’m irked on principle. I know I can contact the bank and tell them that the dollar amount was changed, and I have my copy of the voucher to prove it. Part of me is bummed that this would happen at my favorite lunch place. But I’m left wondering- should I have tipped? If so, how much? It’s one of those downtown places where you stand in line, place your order, walk to the end of the counter, pay, get your order, and leave. I am happy to tip for good service, but 20% seems like a bit much in this situation. (To be clear, I’m not asking about tipping at this particular place- they’ve lost my business. I’m asking about lunchtime takeout in general.)

In retrospect, I should have paid more attention to the advice in this thread.
