World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party

Looking for advice on attending the Georgia-Florida college football game in Jacksonville, Florida on November 1. Most convenient hotel? How do I get tickets? Do I need a car? Where is the most fun to be had besides the stadium? Not a high roller, but I don't mind paying for hotel/rental car/parking/ticket broker etc. I don't really have connections in the Jacksonville area or at either school.

On your bumper and accelerating

Why to people tailgate on the interstate? Specifically, why do people drive at unsafe distances from other people's cars? It's not uncommon for me to see a line of more than a dozen automobiles all driving within a car length of one another at 65+ miles per hour. What's even more odd to me, is that I will frequently see cars race up to a line of people doing this, and take their spot at the back of the pack for no apparent reason.

My first thought was that it was an aggression: "I'm on your bumper so move over" thing, but when confronted with a dozen or so cars (and sometimes semis) in front of you, that doesn't make sense. I also thought it might be an effort to draft to improve gas efficiency, but considering how many of them are driving otherwise, that seems unlikely as well.

What's worse is that if one person hits their brakes, the entire line is forced to rapidly slow down, which inevitably leads to traffic congestion as people jump into a different lane, making everyone behind them slow down as well, and when traffic resumes, these cars inevitably go right back to driving with very little space in front of them.

Is it just that people are inattentive and don't realize how close they are, or is there some kind of other mechanism at work here that I am not understanding.

Get Me Drunk In Iowa

Can I bring a keg to Iowa for a tailgate party? So I along with many of my friends are going to Iowa for the Iowa-Minnesota football game. We are looking to get a keg in Minnesota and bring it down to Iowa City for the game. Is there any state laws preventing this? Are we better just buying a bunch of cases or try and buy a keg down in Iowa City? Any information / advice would be helpful.

Tailgating in Buffalo, NY

I will be attending a NFL-Buffalo Bills game in Buffalo on November 5. I’m looking for some tailgating advice. A friend of mine is a big Buffalo Bills fan. We will be driving to Buffalo from St. Louis, MO that weekend. Although I’m not a Bills fan myself, I’ve agreed to tag along since I think it will be a fun road trip. I want to set up a tailgate and I’d like some Buffalo-specific advice from anyone who has tailgated in Buffalo. Since we’re driving a Ford F-150 we’ll have plenty of room in the bed to bring whatever is necessary. I’ve watched enough games on TV that I presume the weather will be cold, windy, with rain/snow. Is there a particular parking lot that is best?
