I just went skiing for the first time in Colorado with some friends and loved it. Now that I'm back in the Bay Area, where can I go skiing that's beginner friendly and close enough to make it a day trip?

Where can I take the kids to play in the snow tomorrow? We're at Incline Village, North Lake Tahoe, but there doesn't seem to be any snow around here!

Does anyone know how I can get this
article from the Reno Gazette-Journal about the Harvey's Lake Tahoe bombing, for free? You can access the depreciated site
here, but the links and images are all dead. I searched on their archives, but it looks like you need to buy all the parts of the article separately.

We are off to Lake Tahoe this weekend and we're bringing our
dogs. Does the green have any tips or experience for the long drive (3 hours) or secret canine friendly haunts on the south shore?
We thank you as do the puppies.

Heading to Milpitas Monday with my husband. Next Friday afternoon, we're planning to drive up to South Lake Tahoe, where we have a hotel, and then explore the Yosemite area Saturday and Sunday before driving back Sunday evening.
Doable? Suggestions, recommendations? And what clothes should I bring--I want to pack one bag and get the most wear out of it for the entire week.

ChevyTahoeFilter: I just passed 100k miles on my 01 chevy tahoe. There are various little issues like alignment, some wierd noises, belts need to be replaced, brakes, etc.. I never got the 90k mile checkup and it goes without saying that i havent got the 100 mile checkup either. Where do you recommend i take my vehicle to have this done? I can go to the dealership but im paying a huge premium there, do you recommend any other places that do these checkups? FYI....Im in the Dallas Tx area, specifically north Dallas.

I'm looking for a resort in Tahoe that has both (a) good beginner snowboarding trails and (b) snowshoe trails. Nice to haves: group snowshoe outings and snowshoe rentals.

Where's the best place for skiing in the Reno/Tahoe area for a bunch of beginners? Is it crazy to go (for a day) during the week of Christmas?

Living in Lake Tahoe(!) My sister-in-law has a chance to live out in Lake Tahoe for the ski season. She'll be working, either on a mountain or off, but she doesn't have a job lined up yet. My question (after a chat with her) is about where she might want to live. Been to Tahoe? Lived there? Help a recent college grad have a blast.

Myself and three friends are going skiing at Squaw Valley next weekend and we're looking for a place to stay. We're flexible, but we'd like something cheap, close to Squaw, and preferably with internet access. Any recommendations?

A buddy and I are going on a road trip starting the 28th of December for 8 days. Our first destination is the Grand Canyon but after that, who knows. Being the anal retentive that I am, I sort of plotted out a route that took us from the GC to Zion then Bryce then Salt Lake City then across upper Nevada to Tahoe. I was wondering, is this too ambitious? Are there cooler things to see or places to visit? How about places to avoid?
