I've always enjoyed seeing graffiti tags... I know they're considered "bad" but I feel like I know some of my local taggers: dead fish, stelr, lady ace, etc. They're like familiar friends. But how do I get to KNOW this network? [more inside]
I have a huge bank of vector images that I share with my design team. We want to be able to tag them and search them and scroll through them quickly. We also need everybody to be able to see the tags and add to them. The easy tagging is especially important. I've tried out Bridge but I am a little disappointed. Any suggestions? [more inside]
I'm looking for recommendations for tagging software that will let me streamline my file system and quickly search through it. I'm running Windows 7 and have about a terabyte of images, mp3s, text files, and odds and ends that I'd like to go through. Ideally I'm looking for an offline solution that doesn't store the tag data in the filename. I don't want to have to use multiple different programs and I don't want to have to do this again from scratch in a few years.
My neighborhood has a lot of outdoor cats, so I would like to add something to my indoor cat's tag to indicate that if someone encounters him alone outdoors it means that he is, indeed, lost. I don't like "Oh no, I'm lost!" since it'll be mostly me or my guests that see the tag the majority of the time, when it's not applicable -- but the only alternative I've come up with is "indoor cat," which is lacking the cute factor. What are some options in the 28 character range? [more inside]

In Pennsylvania, a non-governmental place one would go to help facilitate the private-party sale of an automobile/vehicle/boat where sales tax can be paid and collected, documents notarized, government forms submitted, license plates acquired and registrations completed is called a "Tag Shop", "Title Shop" or "Tag and Title Shop". What is it called in Florida? [more inside]
We have a physical job folder that moves from department to department along with a database system. As much as I want to give up the paper folder, we need to keep it. So I ask you how best to tag each so I can walk in a room and some device tell me what job numbers are in this area? [more inside]
I sew custom clothes for children and I need to start putting labels in my items. I've got the basic info for a care tag covered, but I want a short, cute phrase to put on there too. For example, one I've seen says, "Wear, Love, Wash, Repeat." Another I've seen says "play hard and get dirty." Another said "100% cotton and maybe a little unicorn hair for good luck." I don't want it to be cheesy and trite, but just to elicit a smile when a mom or dad sees it while laundering the clothes. Any suggestions? Thanks!
What do you call this thing? (This one is broken, the metal part would be fastened to the plastic handle.) It is used to cut tags off of new items. [more inside]

I saw some Brooklyn high schoolers outside playing a game that could be described as turn-based freeze tag (and poses that came out of tai chi postures). As the initial setup they stood in a ring of around 8-10, frozen in a pose. At certain points one person would make a wild move (mainly using arms, hands extended flat, sometimes pivoting) and attempt to tag the person next to them out of the ring. They would return to frozen after that, but there may have been a countermove made as well. Eventually there were two people and a winner was found. Any idea what they were playing?
Is there a way to read Microsoft Tag barcodes with a computer program? I don't own a smartphone but I'd still like to be able to use them when I come across them.
Developers and content curators: Help me with some market research. I am trying to find an off-the-shelf solution or to spec out how to develop a solution to the following problem. My organization is looking to setup an internal collection, curation, and distribution system to push multimedia content to hundreds of social media accounts (in dozens of languages) with potentially hundreds of users. Ability to enable push-button publishing via Facebook, Twitter, and other APIs through a plug-in architecture. Sound interesting? Read on. [more inside]

I'm looking for a specific type of program. Brainstorming/note taking/tag cloud-esque Windows software, preferably allowing the user to enter short pieces of text then drag them around and link or group phrases or words together. A replacement for a physical whiteboard where short ideas would be jotted, reworked, and linked together haphazardly, where short phrases and words can be stored and inspiration gained from their juxtaposition. There's this grafitti tagger here in town who scrawls his name everywhere in big black magic marker. On the sides of mailboxes, on walls, on doors. Thing is, it's a nice design and he's got a catchy name. I was thinking the other day that if I started a clothing line, I would like to use his tag as my trademark logo. Chances are, he hasn't trademarked his tag. If I decided to trademark it myself, then deployed it as the name of my clothing line, as well as use his scrawl on the backs of the hoodies I sold - legally, would he have any recourse?

Help an iTunes hater. I have 400 similarly tagged items I want to delete as I listen to them. Why won't iTunes let me have a column that is just "filename"? Every other media player can do that. And don't even get me started on the "keep my music organized" check box. The only way I could get my 400 items into iTunes with unique names was to turn that off, import the 400 items, and use a 3rd party id3 tagger to read the filename into the tag. I thought the Mac experience was supposed to be easy. I must be missing something really stupid. Is there an easier way?
