Where to sell used books, CDs, DVDs, and gaming stuff in Chicagoland?

What are the best places in the Chicago area to sell used books, CDs, DVDs, and tabletop gaming materials? My wife and I are moving into a new place in a month; since we're largely a digital-only household these days (Kindle, MacBook, iPhone), I'd like to take this opportunity to clean out the physical media that keeps following us around. We have a bunch of DVDs and CDs, as well as quite a few boxes of books (largely non-fiction and older tabletop gaming stuff, e.g., AD&D 2nd Ed.); I refuse to drag it all to yet another apartment.

I'd ideally like to be able to visit as few places as possible to offload the majority of what I have; I'm willing to drive (both within Chicago and the suburbs), but I don't want to end up having to visit 15 different places. I also don't want to list items individually on Craigslist since what I can expect to be paid per-item isn't worth the hassle of making many individual sales; by the same token, I really don't want to bother with eBay. My primary goal is getting rid of the stuff — not making the most amount of money possible. (Anything I don't end up selling will be given away and/or tossed.)

So, Chicago submodule of UsedStuffFilter ... suggestions? (The closest AskMeFi post I've found was this one for used CDs.)

Hopefully the geekiest question I will ever ask

Help me build a D&D 3.5 Character I've been invited into a new D&D 3.5 game with a small group of my friends. I'm 28, and the last time I did anything like this I was 13. I enjoyed it then, and expect to enjoy it now, but I don't have the background going into it that the rest of the group will, and as such find the player's handbook a little bit inscrutable.

A couple of years ago, some of my friends and I tried to create our own TTG, which never came to fruition, but some of us still put a lot of thought and work into what we wanted from it. As the setting for our game was to be steampunk, my character was going to be a saboteur. I still really like this idea, and as far as I can tell, the closest thing in D&D 3.5 is the prestige class of "Arcane Trickster."

So basically what I'm asking is - 1.) Is this actually a fun class, or does it just have a cool name? 2.) What would one generally do with this class in practice? 3.) Should I take a Bard or Rogue track to get there? 4.) Assuming that I want to take the Bard track, would I be better off as a Gnome or a Halfling? 5.) What am I knot thinking of that I need to take into account?

Bonus Question: It'd be awesome if I could get my GF involved in the game as well. Her twin sister is a big TTG fan, but my GF has never played, and has a bad opinion of them from having to sit around doing nothing when visiting her sister while their group played and ignored her. The group we're convening is all friends of hers, and she'll have an open invitation to join, but what might I do to make that offer seem attractive?

As always, thank you all.

I need help finding a really nice set of dice for playing D&D

D&DFilter: I want to buy my girlfriend a very nice set of dice for her to use when she plays D&D. But I don't know what kinds of dice she needs, nor do I know what separates nice dice from very nice dice. Wikipedia says most role playing games use 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d12, 1d20, and 2d10. She showed me what she called a "standard set" of dice once and I seem to recall 2d8, and no d12, but I am probably misremembering. What should I be looking for?

What makes nice dice nice? I've talked to her some about what kind of jewelry she likes (because I figured some nice dice may be made of stone). Her birthstone is emerald, but she doesn't like it very much, she prefers opal or turquoise. I googled a bit and saw some dice made of bone. I asked about that and she thinks it's kind of creepy.

At one point she had some "Aurora Borealis" dice (or maybe just "Borealis") that she was really in love with.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Ideas for a glass tabletop project

I have finished building a dining table and want to use an all glass tabletop instead of wood top. The idea is that the glass top would rest on four leg supports. Originally I was thinking of getting grey tinted glass with countersunk holes that sits on dowel pins. Turns out it is almost a custom job and the cost is coming out to be too much for 0.5 inch glass. If I go with 3/8 inch glass then apparently they do not make grey tinted version of those. So here are my questions -

What are good ways to prevent a glass top from sliding around when it is resting on four flat contact points which may be 1 to 2 inch in diameter. Special transparent glue ? or sticky pads ? I am looking for a clean look.

The other question is what is a good way to get the tinted glass effect. I was thinking of may be using grey colored films. Not sure if that is the best way. If you think that is a good way i would appreciate some pointers to good sources of such films. Thanks
