iOS app for custom tables / dice results?

Looking for an iOS app that will let me set up a table (of dice scores and results), then roll on that table by pushing a button. For example, I might set up a table 'FOO': 1-2 = A, 3-4 = B, 5-6 = C. I could then push the FOO button, and it'd roll a d6 and give me A, B or C. Does this sort of thing exist?

How should I store my grandmother's fancy table?

I have a very old, fancy-seeming wooden dining table with lots of scrollwork around the edge, etc, that I need to store. The legs are detachable, giving me a 6ft by 4ft by 1ft (or so) oval tabletop with real pretty wood surfaces. I have no idea how she kept it in such good shape for longer than my whole life. Copying tables within a MS Word protected form

I need to find a way to allow users to copy/paste a table that sits within a Word 'protected' form (ie users can only edit within the form fields). We had a series of templates developed by a 'professional', but they have not been able to overcome some version/OS incompatibility issues. The problem is specifically in enabling the table to be selected in the first place, as this function is lost when the protection is applied. [more inside]

Should I partition really big PostgreSQL tables?

Is it worth partitioning big (>1.5TB) tables in PostgreSQL? Most partitioning stuff seems to be based on the idea of sequential data, where older data is moved off onto secondary hardware or something, but this data is all equally important. I can't figure out if partitioning would be a win when all rows are equally likely to be accessed. If it makes a difference, most queries will access only one row, but multiple row queries will span multiple partitions regardless of the partitioning criteria I choose.

How can I build an outdoor table out of pallets?

I recently moved into a new home which has a lovely back deck. I've been searching around for a decent wooden outdoor table for said deck that's not made of some crazy expensive wood that will drain the cash reserves that I frankly do not have. I've heard tell of a wonderful way to construct a rustic outdoor table from old pallets, which are in abundant supply out here at some local orchards and vineyards, but I have not been able to hunt down plans or instructions or anysuch for this mythical table. Anyone done this before, or know somewhere around here where I can find plans/instructions?
