I need to find a way to allow users to copy/paste a table that sits within a Word 'protected' form (ie users can only edit within the form fields). We had a series of templates developed by a 'professional', but they have not been able to overcome some version/OS incompatibility issues. The problem is specifically in enabling the table to be selected in the first place, as this function is lost when the protection is applied.

What Mac program should I use for a chart to keep track of my upcoming job applications? You know how in iTunes, you can see the same music library listed alphabetically by artist, or by album, or by genre, and so on? I'd like to be able to view the same bunch of jobs listed by deadline, or by ad number, or alphabetically by requirements.

I've been tasked with making a relatively minor change to the footer of a website, but it was built in Dreamweaver, uses tables for layout, and I don't have the template files (or anything else other than what's on the server).

Is it worth partitioning big (>1.5TB) tables in PostgreSQL? Most partitioning stuff seems to be based on the idea of sequential data, where older data is moved off onto secondary hardware or something, but this data is all equally important. I can't figure out if partitioning would be a win when all rows are equally likely to be accessed. If it makes a difference, most queries will access only one row, but multiple row queries will span multiple partitions regardless of the partitioning criteria I choose.

Our three cats are brazenly unfazed when we squirt them with water guns. They jump up on the counter tops, we squirt them, they scamper away, and then five minutes later they're back up there. What are other ways to make them fear the humans' surfaces?

This is a very basic Word 2003 question. I have a list of 50 countries in descending alfabetical order. I've used the "convert text to table function" in Word (2003) to put them in a table (5 columns, 10 rows). Up to here, everything is fine.

How do I get a the rows in a table to stay clumped in fives even if I add or change the data?I have a long list of data that I need to arrange in a table, and I want the rows grouped together in fives. I'm currently working in Microsoft Word, and what I've got looks something like
this Google Doc. I want the table(s) to stay grouped like this even if I add, delete, or change the data. If I just use the Word tables, adding a new line to a group will just create an extra row.

I use tables in Indesign for lots of layout control purposes - they are fantastic for building very complex grids and forms. I often use them to build graphs as well, even simple bar graphs, but am having a big problem now.

I recently moved into a new home which has a lovely back deck. I've been searching around for a decent wooden outdoor table for said deck that's not made of some crazy expensive wood that will drain the cash reserves that I frankly do not have. I've heard tell of a wonderful way to construct a rustic outdoor table from old pallets, which are in abundant supply out here at some local orchards and vineyards, but I have not been able to hunt down plans or instructions or anysuch for this mythical table. Anyone done this before, or know somewhere around here where I can find plans/instructions?
