I have 20 computer that don't have hard drives. After installing new hard drives, I plan on installing windows 7 on all 20 computers. My question is will I need to purchase 20 copies of Window 7? Does Mircrosoft have an option when outfitting multiple computers.

I bought a netbook a couple of years ago and have probably used it a total of eight times since. I just resold it on Amazon and am now preparing to ship it off. I understand that under normal circumstances it's advisable to wipe the hard disc and then reinstall the operating system. My netbook has no CD drive and therefore no operating system CD. I'm told the operating system may be embedded in another disc but I don't have the savvy or patience to figure it out.

My computer is dual booting Windows Vista and Ubuntu. I have gotten a Windows 7 upgrade disc and want to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. Will the upgrade have any effect on the Linux side of the partition or will it just change the Windows side of the partition from Vista to 7 leaving Ubuntu unscathed? What happens with GRUB?

Install Linux or windows without a cd drive or usb just direct access to the hard drive. I have an old cf-29 toughbook by Panasonic that I've had for years. I'm trying to resurrect it and for the life of me cant remember my own cmos password. Aside from possibly nuking the bios password which will be near impossible due to the NATO standards this notebook was built to. I was thinking I would just try to install an OS directly to the hard drive and simply transplant it back into the toughbook.

mac filter: Several oldish ibooks at work (2002-03 vintage, running 10.3.9, it appears) that haven't been used for a while but have various files on them. Not sure what's what and need to go through everything. First step: transfer all the files to a more stable machine, but how to copy those files when the newish flash drives I have laying around don't show up as readable through the usb ports?

How do I solve this annoying Vista bug? About 10% of the time when I open a file browser dialog from within a program (save as, open file, etc.) the program immediately closes. No error, no warning, the program is just gone. I have not been able to find a solution with google.
