I leave for a much much much needed vacation tomorrow that I've been looking forward to for the past two months. As more and more people around me (family, friends, coworkers) have been getting sick during this nasty flu season, I have been super paranoid about getting the flu myself just in time to spoil my vacation. I started feeling really achy and fatigued last night, but maybe it has more to do with other things?

Hi, MeFi. I've had a medical condition for the past month which involves numbness in my hands and face, headaches, fatigue, emotional distress, and other unpleasant symptoms. I know YANMD, and I am in fact already seeing a doctor and will soon be seeing a neurologist. I'm sorry about the wall of text, but if any of this sounds familiar, please let me know -- it would really help when talking to my doctors!

I'm weaning off Lexapro under my doctor's supervision. Because I'm not going to keep bugging my doctor about this (she's on vacation anyway), I figured it'd hit up for guys for some withdrawal symptom advice. I've been having some fun ones, and I want to make sure everything is fine. I'd also like to find out what might help me feel a little bit better.

I've been getting that coming-down-with-a-cold feeling a lot lately, but it hasn't turned into a cold. Is my immune system super effective against cold viruses, or is there some other explanation?

Can you help narrow down what sort(s) of doctor(s) to see and what to investigate, given these symptoms? All symptoms have cropped up within the last two years. Before that, I felt healthy most of the time. Primary care doc has been little help, and most of the specialists seem to focus only on the symptoms within their own areas of expertise.

[medical advice filter] Yes, I know, you are not my doctor, but please give me some ideas about what I need to ask the person who IS my doctor, based on my symptoms. Apologies in advance for the length and special snowflake details.

So I have all the symptoms of shingles, just...less so. Rash above my left eye, intensely freakishly itchy moving into pins and needles and stabbing pain in my left temple. Also swollen lymph nodes, et cetera et cetera. But I'm told shingles is excruciating, and this is more highly obnoxious. Could it still be shingles, or is that impossible? (FWIW, I've seen a doctor, and she was on the fence too)

I need help identifying these symptoms my dog displayed today. We were walking outside, and all of the sudden she started acting disoriented (like she couldn't see). I stopped and looked at her, and her eyes were darting quickly back and forth. These were the only two symptoms; there was no head tilt or anything else.

GasLeakFilter:
This evening, I installed the 1963 Kenmore Griddletop I'd purchased a few weeks ago into my kitchen. At the re-sell shop where it was purchased, I was shownthat all the burners worked, that there were no leaks (some sort of geiger counter). At any rate, I suddenly have a weird sort of sore throat, and I'm wondering if the damn thing isn't leaking. So: first, how do I determine if it's leaking, and two, what are the signs of low-level natural gas poisoning?
(I *did* shut off the gas valve and have range hood fan going, just in case)
