Movie ID Filter: 2 Scottish Clans make a circle and pit a representative of their respective clans for a duel. One huge guy with a broadsword and one regular size guy with a foil. The foil guy dances around cutting the big guy to ribbons until big guy finally grabs the foil with his off hand and cleaves the other guy in two.

My son has been given what he's been told is a decorative fuchi (collar) from a katana. It has some Japanese characters inscribed on it, and he's desperate to find out what it means - he has been told it's a name, but we have no way of knowing.
Here are a couple of pictures.
Any ideas? Hopefully it doesn't translate as 'Happy Toy Company'. Thanks all.

Was the "shing" sound in
this logo animation created with a synthesizer? If so (or if it could have been done that way), how? I have the typical audio FX software installed and would like to know how to create a nice synthetic SHINGGGG! sound.

In Gene Wolfe's
Book of The New Sun, the sword
Terminus Est is filled with some type of fluid, possibly mercury, that makes its weight shift depending on how it's being held. Have any real historical weapons been constructed in such a way, by filling them with fluids or ball bearings or something?

My turn: what movie have I been thinking about for the past 15 years or so? The only scene I can remember is some guy getting his hand chopped off in a cave or dungeon.

I know this is a long shot, but... does anyone out there know the whereabouts of my grandfather's (Marine) sword? It was given to Goodwill in California around 1963 or so.

80sTVShow/FantasyFilter: Sword and Sorcery. At the end of each episode (?), the image would freeze and covert to a painting of said image. That's all I remember. I was 7 or 8 at the time so this would make it around 1985 or so.
So. Yeah. That's all you get. Go to it, Mefites.

Please help me name a painting. I have an old photocopy of a painting depicting a man being held on his back by two busty women. One of the women has a cloth wrapped around her head, and the other is slicing the man's neck open with a sword. What's it called? Who painted it?
