We are going through the 'normal' grieving process, but I am worried about my family and how they will get by. Is there anything that I can do to help and should I move closer to them? [more inside]

Angst and melancholy aside, I persistently fear that I will never be able to happily integrate into society. I know I need help, but I can’t figure out how to overcome my negative emotions and in succumbing to them I only feed into my cycle of avoidance and disappointment. [more inside]

A friend was just fired from my department for somewhat vague reasons. I've heard the story from my friend, and the managers have yet to say anything to the rest of us. As far as I can tell, my friend did nothing scandalous, illegal, or that violated my employer's policies. My friend is also not lazy. Everyone in the department is confused, and our morale is clearly shot. How do I support my friend and my coworkers? How can I/we move on enough to get day-to-day work done? [more inside]

I'm at University and far removed from home geographically. My parents are planning on getting divorced soon and anyone semi-observant would've seen this coming years and years ago. Both wonderful people, both wholly incompatible. So what can I/they do for my adorably clueless, naive, 8-year old sister who still has no idea? [more inside]

Looking for Depression (and other mental health) support groups in the Chicago area that meet actively and would welcome new members. I'm aware of the Depression meetup group but it seems to be more of a social group while I'm seeking something more therapeutic in nature. Are there any? Information about therapists who might be leading any such groups would also be helpful.
Thanks.

Has anyone ever had a significant other or loved one with agoraphobia? How did you come to understand their situation? How did you deal with it? Is there anything the one that isn't suffering from it in the relationship can do to make it easier? "It" could be either the relationship or the agoraphobia itself.
