When I was a kid, I got Ranger Rick and Dynamite and Highlights and Cricket and a bunch of other magazines in my name, and it was thrilling for me. Well, Christmas time is rolling around and I have a couple of new kids in my life, a girl age 5 and a boy age 8, and I'd like to get them actual physical magazine subscriptions because that's fun and exciting. What kids magazines actually still exist today as physical get-in-the-mail products? Im looking for a wide range of interests so I can work from a broad pool of possibilities.
Do you know of a "lifetime" subscription or membership or purchase that you recommend or that seems interesting or a good deal? (An opportunity to pay once and reap ongoing benefits/dividends indefinitely.) In this modern era of low job security, I think I'd like knowing I'll always have a few Nice Things (or simply just reliable things) regardless of what financial turbulence the future may bring, so I'm curious what might be out there along those lines. I like discovering and reading about [old-ish but not too old] cars. Thing is, I seem to have very odd, particular tastes and I can't find a magazine that really suits it. Does anyone have any suggestions for magazines (paper or electronic) to subscribe to? [more inside]
I run a menswear website, and we have two paid subscription offerings: a newsletter (delivered on our site and via email) and a physical subscription service (pocket squares, every other month). Our provider, Memberly, is shutting down in a couple months. What's the best alternative? [more inside]
I design magazines and newspapers for a living. Sometimes I kinda...hit a rut...and need some inspiration. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any design/communications publications or periodicals that may supply free subscriptions to professional designers? I've got a few mag subscriptions myself, but they can be pretty expensive to keep up with, especially those with really great illustration and design. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I'm a college sophomore and I want to be well-informed about the world. Which periodical should I subscribe to? Requirements: not US-centric, broad and well-written coverage. I'd love something like Lapham's Quarterly, but I'm also considering something that might condense important, current world news because it's hard to keep up with the newspapers. [more inside]

I would like to set up weekly meal planning/recipe/shopping list service. I follow a certain dietary plan -(NOT paleo )and think that that there i a gap in the market for a simple menu/shopping list which arrives in your inbox every week. The problem is that I have no idea how to go about setting it up.I am a very decent cook and have done this for myself for about a year,so I already have a whole set of recipes and tricks that are diet compliant. I need to know if there are any software options that I should be looking at and I have no problem investing the money for someone else to do it-but I'm not even sure who I should be approaching!I would like to be able to modify it and maybe offer add ons/customizations if it was successful. So any help and advice would be gratefully received! Thank you!

I’m interested in getting a subscription/membership to a museum or similar location in the Boston area as a gift. I’m really looking for something that would appeal to a younger adult without kids who likes a broad range of cultural activities. I’ve considered the Museum of Science and the Museum of Fine Arts, but I’d love to hear first hand impressions of those and get other suggestions. It doesn’t have to be a museum specifically (could be, say, a theater subscription), but I'd like to keep it under $150ish and it does have to be MBTA accessible and let in at least 2 adults.
Rhapsody's catalog is pretty good, but poor search and spotty album info are making me unhappy. I want to be able to choose albums and tracks to stream, so I'm not looking for radio. Opera is my priority. Can you help?

Since the magazine hasn't answered my email I'll ask y'all. I was thinking about purchasing the online subscription to the New Yorker so I can read their archives. Anyone know what format the archived articles are available in? Can you only read online or do they allow you to download so you can read stuff on your device? Epub? Pdf?
What is the best deal I can get on a New Yorker subscription. Last time I renewed my subscription I used the lowest price I found on the internet/mailings and said that I wanted that price and the umbrella. I know they have had $26 deals out there? Anyone got any good offers lately? I saw Amazon is selling subscriptions for a year for $40, on the New Yorker website you can also get a calendar with that. Anything better?
