I find that cheap iPad styluses get squishy-tipped quickly and stop working nearly as well. How can I avoid this?

I've seen the
Nano Nails product that is supposed to turn your fingernails into a capacative stylus. I like this idea, but they aren't out yet, and anyway I want to do my nails myself! What can I use that's lightweight to attach to my fingernail so that it conducts enough electricity to operate an iPod Touch?

I got myself a
Lenovo tablet on super sale for Christmas. I'm interested in using it to read and annotate pdf files (mainly journal articles). The pdf reader app I'm using has the ability for freehand writing, and I'd like to try that out for margin notes (some of the papers are technical with lots of symbols, so writing is easier than typing). I bought
a stylus that had pretty good reviews on Amazon, but I have to push down to make it work which is ok for highlighting, but tiring for writing. Is this a limitation of this tablet's screen? Or is there a stylus that is easier to use?

I know this is well trodden ground, but I have a question about tablets. I want a tablet that will mainly be for reading/annotating pdfs (academic papers). My main worries are eye strain and stylus integration. What's my best bet?

I have a perfectly good new iPad that is sadly underutilized. I'd like to start sketching and drawing on it, but I have no idea where to start. Help!

I'm looking for an iPad stylus that's good for quick notes and rough sketches. I already have an AluPen, which is fine, but a little short, with a tip that's a little too fat and squishy. I've read all the answers to prior questions on the topic, and they were helpful, but the technology changes so quickly, and none sold me on any particular option. Other things you should know: I have basically no artistic artistic ability, I have decent handwriting but find translating it to the iPad difficult, and I'm going to use the stylus mostly for keeping notes on and outlining my various projects using the new Paper app.

My 92-year-old mother, who had never before used a computer, bought an iPad a few weeks ago (you go, Mom!). She’s having a bit of trouble tapping small input areas with her fingers, though.

Gah! I'm at my wit's end. My brand new
Audio Technica AT-LP120 USB turntable was working great, but all of a sudden decided to stop making music and make blaring noise.
Listen to this video; is my stylus borked, or is it something else? Tried adjusting everything to no avail. I'm holding on hope that I didn't destroy the stylus though, because occasionally it will make good sound.

I bought a record player in a charity shop for £5. turns out it's a vintage beogram 1500. as far as i can tell, the only thing wrong with it is the stylus has fallen off |
as evidenced by this|. I've looked around but all i can find is a replacement cartridge for £80. do I need a stylus specific to that turntable or can I use any old stylus? (i'm not overly concerned with sound quality)
Also, it occurred to me that, under the same logic that records are better than cds, laserdiscs are better than dvds (you can get any film online so the only reason to buy a physical copy is for the packaging). How easy is it to get hold of cheap laserdiscs and laserdisc players?

I have a HP Compaq Tablet PC TC1100 that I have bought for work purposes, I would like to hack the pen, so I can make it smaller, and mountable on a Bluetooth wireless scanner that is used in conjunction with the tablet.

I need some turntable help. I found the perfect present for my dad this year - a recording of two Xmas songs by Yogi Yorgesson that he used to sing all the time. Problem is, it's a 45. I called his wife and she told me they have a Technics SL-D1, but it currently has no needle. I know jack about record players. Can I get any old cheap-o needle/cartridge for this thing?
