Headphones to take a licking and keep on ticking

What are the sturdiest headphones you've ever owned? My younger brother has asked for headphones for his upcoming birthday. He tears through headphones at an alarming rate - about four pairs a year. He's a high school student, and he keeps his newest pair at the bottom of his backpack, sleeps with them on, and abuses them in a variety of other ways. I'm not sure which brands and models he's torn through so far.

I'd like to buy him a pair of headphones that will keep working for more than a month or two. Hopefully they'll sound OK and won't cost more than 50$. He'd probably prefer on or over the ear headphones to earbuds.

I've seen this thread, but the discussion mostly focused on making sure the headphones wouldn't damage the kids' hearing.

Looking for a sturdy bag.

I'm looking for a sturdy, high quality, somewhat large bag to put up with some abuse. I hope to be going to Marine Corps Officer Candidates School next summer or fall. It is well know that when a candidate arrives, the things he brings will get thrown and abused by the staff. During "pickup" (when the candidates meet the staff that will be training them for the next 10 weeks) they should expect every single personal item they have brought to be thrown across the parade deck (basically a large parking lot without any painted lines).

I'm looking for a bag that can survive this kind of abuse. A few basic requirements (in decreasing order of importance):

1. NO WHEELS. It can NOT have wheels.
2. Again, very sturdy and rugged.
3. Somewhat rigged (i.e. not loose and flowy).
4. Easy to carry. Shoulder or backpack straps being the bare minimum.
5. Easy to access the contents and re-fill after all of my stuff has been dumped out.

Thanks.

I'm looking for a new bed frame that's budget and... sturdy.

I'm looking for a very sturdy bed frame to replace one that recently broke while in use. I REALLY do not want this to happen again, so I need suggestions for a VERY sturdy, quiet bed for less than $500. The current bed frame (which is only sort of servicable anymore) is a slat type bedframe that I inherited from a former college roommate. It looks to likely be Ikea of some sort, and now the slats keep slipping out of the frame to the ground (a couple have even broken). The middle length-wise beam to support the two rows of slats also broke. Looks like the screws are bent and the things starting to twist out of place.

I have used the simple metal frames before, and they were sturdy but they creaked a lot and I would like to graduate to a nice-looking "real" bed (i.e. headboard & all).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
