What is the proper air conditioning refrigerant pressure for a 2004 Scion xB? Should the pressure reading be made at a specific RPM? My A/C has been slowly loosing cooling over the last couple of years, now it really only cools well when traveling above 35~ mph, not so well at all in stop-and-go situations. Does it sound like I am on the right track to recharge the system? Works pretty well at steady-state speeds...

When I was a kid in the US in the early 80s, we had a series of children's stories on records. The one I particularly remember was about a colorful African warrior's shield, possibly told from a child's perspective. I'm pretty sure the album covers were purple. That's about all I've got. Any idea what the series or this particular story was? [more inside]

Up until a week or two ago, my phone's predictive text function predicted not just which word I was typing, but also which word I was likely to type next. It used an algorithm which not only paired common words, but which (and this is the important bit) also learned which words I used frequently. Now that's not happening any more. Predictive text is still working, but it doesn't seem to be learning my vocabulary any more. How can I make this work again? [more inside]

Yesterday I was reading an article written by Johnny Black about Bob Dylan in an old (November 1998) MOJO magazine, and was intrigued by the following statement: "In one fortnight at the end of 1965, 80 cover versions of Dylan songs were released as singles." Is there any way I could find out exactly what those 80 singles were, short of writing to MOJO or Johnny Black and asking for the source of an article from well over a decade ago? Have any official data been retained (by, say, recording industry bodies or Dylan's publishers) pertaining to single releases during the mid-60s? Or have any Dylanologists organized such data?
I'm looking for audio-visual footage of a live performance by Bob Dylan and his band, at an awards show in the early-mid 2000s. [more inside]

A couple months back I was loading a truck and the Russian/Slavic-looking/sounding driver (and the name of the truck line/owner printed on the truck was definitely Slavic) had a hole cut in his shirt and his necklace/pendant was pulled thru the hole so that it was visible. My somewhat foggy memory thinks it was something religious icon-y. My question: Is this something other than an individual quirk and if so can you tell me about it?

I need to find a way to allow users to copy/paste a table that sits within a Word 'protected' form (ie users can only edit within the form fields). We had a series of templates developed by a 'professional', but they have not been able to overcome some version/OS incompatibility issues. The problem is specifically in enabling the table to be selected in the first place, as this function is lost when the protection is applied. [more inside]

When I was a kid in the late 80's/early 90's, my favorite booth at Hardee's had a big print of a drawing or painting of a beagle puppy eating a businessman. I came across a very neat online language learning tool a few weeks ago, but I didn't bookmark it and now I can't find it again. Basically it worked like this: you choose a preset text or story (I think they were mostly fables and fairy tales), your native language, and the foreign language you're trying to practice. Then it shows the text of the story with a few of your native words replaced with their foreign equivalents, letting you learn them in context. [more inside]
