I want to offer super-cheap ($10 to free) Shakespeare tickets to educators and their students in the NYC area. I'm interested in contacting both high school and college teachers. Would they likely welcome this or consider it spam? Is there some kind of message board or other resource I can use to contact these folks.

I manage a classroom of about 30 laptops. Because we we have no funding for upgrades it is up to me to keeps these things running. Everything my students do is web based, so a bootable CD running some form of kiosk type OS that serves up only a browser seems like a perfect choice. Can someone recommend a solution or even suggest another way to manage the lab?

I was in Venice for a few days at the end of March, and several times saw young people in the street participating in a weird ritual: they would read out a passage from a hand-made poster, the crowd would laugh, and someone would attack them with a foodstuff -- I saw a lot of flour, once a meat tray, and an unfortunate soul
having canned whipped cream injected down his pants. What?

A group of us students are given the opportunity to go abroad over the Spring Break week in a (predominately)
non-english speaking country. The location is up to us (war zones are of course off limits. I'm unsure of the distance limit, I believe South-East Asia is too far away, and St. Petersburg is the only option for Russia) and the cost is subsidized quite a bit. The purpose of the visit isn't for lounging around and seeing sites though, we will be conducting individual research in order to make a ~50 minute presentation back home.
Obviously this is something that will come from the desires of the group, but I was hoping to get some input from the educated masses here at MeFi so that I could relay it back to the rest of the group.
