My boyfriend just got diagnosed with Strep throat. His symptoms showed up Tuesday-Wednesday and I last saw him on Sunday. Now my throat hurts, but I'm also hungover. Should I get tested for strep? I'm paranoid because my tonsils are extremely reactive so when I get a throat infection it can get really really bad.
Two of my spawn are down with strep throat today. I shared utensils (ick) with one of them on Sunday, and have some business-related travel on Thursday. I have no symptoms, yet. Should I go to my primary care doctor and ask for an antibiotic prescription? [more inside]
My 17-year-old daughter started getting a sore throat Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday morning she was pretty miserable--couldn't swallow without extreme pain (like literally crying), sore neck/lymph nodes, lots of sinus congestion. [more inside]
In London for a couple weeks. New & painful sore throat. Does anyone routinely test for bacterial strep here? [more inside]
So I made out with a gentleman who in idle conversation mentioned that he deals with "chronic throat infections". Roughly 24 hours later I have started coming down with a sore throat which I suspect might be strep. [more inside]
My boyfriend has just been diagnosed with a severe bacterial throat infection. How likely is it that I also have it? [more inside]
Seems likely I have strep throat. I went to the doctor and they did rapid testing but it came back negative, now they're making a culture to make sure. This will take two days, but since I have all the symptoms of strep (and lack many of tonsillitis), I'd be willing to guess I have strep throat. They haven't put me on antibiotics yet, so it looks like I'm staying sick for a while. What can I eat to keep myself healthy and happy until I know more? [more inside]
I've gotten strep throat and just took my first dose of antibiotics 5 minutes ago. My throat is absolutely killing me, and I had to miss my morning workout. Me and several friends are going through p90x, and after 50 days, I've only missed once (for sickness). This is my second day. I have a very difficult time finishing things like this, and I've reached an equilibrium in exercise where I want to exercise. I got knocked out of p90x last fall because I got the flu, and after missing a few days, I spiraled back into my sloth. I was going to do the Kempo workout this afternoon, but I also don't want to do something obviously stupid. Do I just need to take a few days off, or can I afford an intense workout today and then take tomorrow off (Sunday is a rest day on this routine)?

Please help me combat the gross taste from my strep-infected tonsil before I hack it out with a paring knife. TMI inside, if it wasn't obvious. [more inside]
Doctor at the clinic said I don't have strep throat, but I'm not convinced. What else could this be? Should I take antibiotics? Other ways to fight strep? [more inside]
Strep throat and/or pharyngitis question: I'm in Nepal in the midst of an uprising and I've been fighting off a throat thing for months. It's difficult to go see an ENT specialist during a general strike, so I thought maybe someone could give me some medical advice. More inside. [more inside]

Strep throat pain remedies -- homemade or medically-sanctioned, I care not. I've never been woken up by throat pain before, and the doctor is still 6 hours away. Any recommendations? [more inside]
