Best Full-Body Strength Workout for Female Runner?

I'm slowly building up my speed and stamina as a runner -- I do roughly 15 miles of hilly outdoor running a week right now, and absolutely love it. I'd like to add in a full-body strength workout (+/- 30 min, 40 including stretching) three days a week. I'd also like this workout to be something I can do at home, with an absolute minimum of supplies (just body weight would be great), and that I can use for a long period of time. [more inside]

Please help me find a term for this strength/endurance concept.

I am looking for a clever descriptive term for the idea of training with a "hardship" that when omitted later, makes you feel super-strong. Like when baseball players put that donut thing on their bats while taking practice swings. (Donuting?) Or when you ride a really heavy bike, then switch to a lighter one. Or practice at high altitudes, and compete at low altitudes. Is there already a term that describes this? If not, I am open to any ideas.

How can I build more physical strength for myself?

My story is thus: between the ages of 14 to 21 my parents starved me very badly as a form of physical abuse. I became very weak as a result, always puking and my hair fell out. No one believed me so I was referred to a psychiatric ward where I was pronounced mentally ill. That all happened a long time ago but I am still finding it very hard to build basic strength and would appreciate some help from a trainer or anyone with fitness experience about very gentle and easy exercises to help build real strength and get my body moving. I've tried googling but a lot of the exercises are just way too heavy for me and I would try the gym but I would end up nearly passing out after 20 minutes. Cooking is a hobby of mine, I'm not an expert but enjoy making my own meals and avoid preprocessed foods and takeaways, so my diet is pretty good. Unfortunately I am too weak to eat 2000 calories per day, I will pass out before I can eat that amount. Please help because this is really affecting my life

How do I get myself to love running and physical activity?

I've been on a bit of a health kick lately--excercising, moving around, and trying to really improve the life I've been leading. I've also begun to run as well and even though I know it is good for him, I always balk, delay, or procrastinate when I know I should do it. After exercising I feel great. Awesome. Amazing. However, it is the initial thought of getting out there, that effort, that strain that prevents me from breaking inertia and actually getting out there. [more inside]

*Insert Eye of the Tiger music here*

I want to get in shape for an activity holiday I'm going on in a few months. Unfortunately, all my experience of fitness to date has been 'dieting for weight-loss' and I don't have the slightest clue how to build my strength so that I can handle rocky terrain, bike for a few hours, or trek for a day. Difficulty level: high - I am overweight and clumsy. [more inside]

What weightlifting can I do at home to increase upper body strength?

I regularly walk 6+ miles a day. I'd like to extend my exercise to increasing my strength. Ideally, I'd do bodyweight exercises, but I've tried to do some recently, and my upper body strength is not capable of more than two pushups, nor a single chair dip . So, I need to build my upper body strength with weights, and I want to do so at home. I can get a set of dumbbells. Please tell me which ones, and how to use them. [more inside]

Sprint Strength? What's the searchable / proper name?

I have always had what I call 'sprint strength'... the ability to lift / perform extremely heavy tasks for a short duration. But that term seems (based on lack of relevant search results) to be my own interpretation and not common... what would you call it? Example: lift and carry 250 lbs a short distance a few times and done... no real stamina, just brute force (without injury)? I.e. Pick up 3 80lb bags of dry concrete with a growl and carry it to a nearby destination... Application: never done a lot of working out or weight training, but looking to play to my strengths in a future workout regimen. As always, thank you all for your input :)

Any downside to a combination cardio and strength workout?

Any downside to a combination cardio and strength workout? I have started doing combination cardio-strength workouts at my gym. A typical workout goes like this: 10-15 minutes on the treadmill, then I immediately do strength exercises, with no downtime between sets. For example, I’ll do a set of pull-ups, then straight to a set of chest fly on a machine, then a set of dips, then a set of ab crunches, then a set of shoulder presses on a machine, then back to the pull-ups, and the cycle repeats (though I often mix up the order depending on the availability of machines, and my mood). Breaking Load of 1"x12"x30" marble

Breaking Strength of Marble. How much weight can a sheet of Tennessee pink marble support? Sheet is 1"x12"x30". It and two others like it will be the base of an octagonal plinth which will support a concrete urn weighing about 200 lbs empty, maybe 400 lbs when planted. Plinth is entirely built of this marble and hollow inside. I am open to suggestions for interior supports, currently thinking of gluing a rod to underside of marble and extending it below ground surface.
