So i have a bit of a weird one here. I'm aware that there are speakers that can pair to eachother
so you can use two as a stereo sound pair, or just two at once(E.G. jambox mini
, beats pill XL
). What i'm looking for though, is sort of the reverse. [more inside]

I want to be able to stream whatever my computer is playing to another room in the house. In addition, I would like to occasionally stream videos to our old, but oversized, TV in another room.
I started shopping and looking at media streaming bridges and wireless speakers and frankly it seems there are a bunch of options and I don't know where to start. It probably needs to go 40 or 50 feet away. I don't think bluetooth would work and the only things I own with an ethernet port are my computer and the wireless router.
Can someone point me towards a good reliable sytem?

My neighbor kindly gave me the key to her (Airport) wireless network Pt 2 (Pt 1 here
). OK - so I'm on, in Ubuntu, and I've been streaming lastfm for the past few days. And then just now I thought, "am I slowing down her network access by streaming music whilst she's online?" Or is the difference negligable? My prime concern here is that I don't want to repay her kindness by ruining her life.

Does anyone recommend a specific LCD television that will allow streaming over UPnP from a media box, decode DivX, XViD, and other MPEG-4 video formats, and is available in North America (specifically Canada)? [more inside]

Today I saw a Slim Devices SqueezeBox 3
. Just read a review at NYT
. Looks pretty neat. That said, I have zero interest or use for the radio/pandora aspect of it. However, the other features may make it worth the price tag. But, before I shell out... what are my other alternatives? (On OS X) [more inside]

Are there external wifi-receiver devices I can plug into an iPod? If so, can you please direct me to some choices?
