Would Like to Recall Name of Specific Arcade Game Early '90s

It was an upright arcade game, but played like a board game. You and some (allegedly) hyper intelligent extraterrestrial take turns placing tokens (colonies, energy nodes, whatever) on a series of boards that change from round to round. Tokens next to the token you place get 'flipped' to your color. There was console art depicting spacey aliens with pseudopods. [more inside]

Cheat like a fox.

I have always been really bad at really simple games, like the ones where there are generally sound mathematical strategies for playing the optimal game. Affordable housing for summer internship (San Mateo, CA)?

Need simple housing for two people during 12 week summer internship. How would you go about securing housing if you only have a week after school finishes before the internship begins? Difficulty factor: Internship is 2,000 miles away in San Mateo, CA. Apartments all seem to require 1-year lease. Do we center on San Mateo for a short bike or walk commute or look for more affordable places along the train or bus lines a distance away? What search strategies would you use? Best case studies of organizational transition/scaling?

I'm looking for a case study that examines an organization as it grows and transitions into a larger company. It seems like this would be a ripe topic for writing, since I'm asking about "the life of a startup," but I'm having trouble finding a good, substantive case study that studies the operating environment, organizational circumstances, decisions, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks!

PC gaming veteran, returning to creating Rollercoasters & Civilizations

I used to play a lot of PC games, but in the past 10 years moved towards console gaming. I realise I've missed a whole era of games that only really work with a mouse and keyboard. My absolute favourites were creative, engaging, long play games, such as Rollercoaster Tycoon and Civilization. I never really played to win. I played for creative ends. The best times I had playing Rollercoaster Tycoon was in sandbox mode the only limits being my imagination. Those were the days. What (PC) games offer the equivalent of this now? [more inside]
