Bringing a couch in from storage?

We've had a couch in a storage unit for a few years now. We'd like to bring it back into our apartment. What precautions should we take before we bring it? (i.e. concerns about dust, pests, molds.) The couch is fabric (not microfiber to my recollection) and has not been wrapped.

Canoe storage in Seattle: what options are there for apartment dwellers who would like to own a canoe? One caveat- I don't own a car. This would need to be by the water. Are there marinas that offer lockers for small boats? Google hasn't helped me with this one. Any info would be awesome! Thanks.

Can I create expandable volumes on my setup?

I have a server with a Perc5/i RAID controller and 8 drive bays. I'd like to use it primarily as a storage server, with the idea of buying 4 drives now and expanding later. I'd like to put ESXi on the server and OpenFiler (or FreeNas) ontop of that.
