How do you easily remove old accumulated registration stickers from a license plate? You know, how every time you get a new sticker, you're supposed to remove the old one before sticking the new one? Except you never do because it's easy to just put it on top of the old one. Suppose that I wanted to remove all the old ones. What's a good trick for that? Last time I tried it seemed very hard. There must be around 15 of them piled up by now.

Can I get rich by making custom-cut vinyl stickers? I see a lot of people on eBay selling vinyl decals--the carefully-cut monochromatic kind, where the sticker is sandwiched between two sheets of paper before application. Generally, a wide variety of custom colors and sizes and designs and whatnot are available, so I figure they're either making the stickers themselves, or working closely with a print shop or something. And people sometimes specify 'vector artwork,' making me think it's computer-controlled. But what about the rest of it? What tools do these folks use, and how much do they cost? What about materials? Can you actually make a profit selling the stickers? What's the economy of the eBay sellers? Do these guys ever get shut down for copyright stuff?

I need some balls and stickers

My question has two parts: I need around a hundred balls that I can paint/write on. They shouldn't be too heavy, with a diameter from say two inches to the size of a billiard ball. I need to write on them, or if you can tell me how to print stickers, I'll print stickers. I've seen mcmaster.com (part number 9941K27) but they're kinda pricey. So my two questions are: 1. Where can I find such balls? 2. How can I print stickers? Thank you, pita

I voted today but my precinct didn't hand out "I voted!" stickers, and it made me sad, especially when I saw people elsewhere sporting them. Why wouldn't my precinct have "I voted!" stickers? Where else can I get one?

Unintelligible status symbols?

What are those oval stickers with 2-3 capital letters in them? If the car is parked, I can get close enough to see that the letters are codes for different geographical locations, but you can't see that when you and the other car are on the road, so I don't quite get the concept. If I'm going to be envious, I need to be able to decode the things. Can anyone explain?

help me find the right printer to make some stickers I would like to print a couple of stickers.

They're fairly simple - one color, white type, much like the stuff you see on the design police website, though all my stickers should be the same size.

I would like to give the printer an A4 or 8.5x11 illustrator file, have them print the page on adhesive paper and precut the stickers so that they're easy to peel off individually. I'm hoping to fit 16 or 24 stickers onto a page and I am fine using a template if that makes it cheaper.

The idea is to hand out a page to everyone at the office and a couple of friends, so this is probably a rather small run that should be somewhat cost-effective.

any recommendations? (UK, US... all good)

I put some political stickers on the bottom on my iMac, on the white plastic. When I tried to remove them the paper top has torn off leaving residue underneath. What's the easiest way to remove all evidence that they were ever there leaving the iMac unscathed?

Is there such thing as scratch card paper/transfer? And if so where might I be able to get it? A long time ago I saw these really cool scratch card stickers that let you make any message or image you wanted into a scratch card simply by applying the transfer/sticker onto the paper and cutting out the sticker.

I know there are companies that will print personalized scratch cards for you, but I unfortunately need too have the materially myself. So what I'm asking is it possible to by sheets of this stuff?

What do you put stickers on? I've got a truckload of stickers from all sorts of things (band stickers, company stickers, cartoon-ish stickers...etc etc) and I'm stumped as to what to put them on.

So I'm basically just curious where you put them...ultimately to give me some ideas. I know people who put them on their laptops or guitar cases and other things like that. But I'd love to hear what you do with them.

what are these circular stickers i see on everyone's cars that show a blue hat and eyeballs underneath (which, when seen from afar, resembles a car k-car profile with the eyes as wheels)? they're everywhere around here (US), and i suspect they're associated with a band or something, but my google-fu isn't working with the image search on this one. at one point i thought they were some sort of obscure parking sticker, but now i suspect it's something larger. what gives?

Where besides CafePress can I have a turnkey sticker shop? I designed a couple of bicycle stickers for myself/friends. I found that I enjoyed the process and designed a few more, and have ideas for a few more still. I'd like to sell these stickers online with as little trouble as possible, i.e. someone places an order, the website takes a cut and handles the printing, shipping, billing etc.

This is what CafePress does. I did a trial sticker (self-link) there, and thought the quality was ok. However, they offer a limited selection of sticker sizes and their base prices are somewhat high (I wouuld partially mitigate this by printing three bike-size stickers onto one standard-sized bumper sticker).

There have been past questions that recommend sticker printing places, but none that also handle the transactions. I do recognize that printing them that way is a lot cheaper, but I don't want to deal with the payment/shipping hassles.

CafePress is ok, but I want to check out the competition.

I'm not going into this expecting big bucks. If I could cover the $7/month or whatever CafePress charges for a premium store, and then clear $10/month beyond that, I'd be happy that I'd be getting some stickers out there and making some extra pocket money.

Any lawn gurus here? I need help with a puncturevine outbreak. My sister is in China for the summer and I'm taking care of her yard while she's gone. I just noticed a serious outbreak of puncturevine ( AKA goatheads or toritos) all over her backyard. The backyard lawn area is about 125'x75' and these things are everywhere so pulling them isn't an option. If these things blossom and sprout stickers, the yard will be unusable. Is there any herbicide I can apply that will kill the vines but not the grass? Or would I be better off to just spray Roundup tomorrow to kill the vines along with the grass and reseed the lawn?

How difficult is it to get bumper stickers off cars? Are there any tricks? Do the stickers get more difficult to remove the longer they stay on?

I just bought a new car and am considering putting a low-key sticker on for a cause I support. However, I've never put a bumper sticker on a car before, nor have I had to remove one, so my decision on whether or not to do it will depend on how difficult it might be to remove it later.

I am looking for free stickers online.

Help, can you identify these three symbols?

I am trying to identify three different symbols, two of which were bumper stickers and one is a popular tattoo...[mi] The first symbol, a bumper sticker, is a black circle with a white border, and within the border is a white "W", and underneath that, a white, five-point star.

Second symbol, a bumper sticker, is a cartoonish-looking tiger head with the French "le tigre" written underneath it.

Third symbol is the popular tattoo that I saw about 500 times at the Little Steven's Underground Garage Fest two weekends ago... a five-point star that is black and red, with each arm of the star being half black and half red.

These are all probably obvious, but I am, as usual, oblivious.

Recommendations requested: Sticker vendors. [intel inside] I'm looking for a short run (250-500 - I'd go to 1000 if the price was right) of full-color stickers, preferably vinyl. I'll work with a standard shape and size, no die cuts required.

The interweb is, of course, chock full of options, but I'm hoping someone has first-hand experience with someone good.
