I'm interested in getting some kind of WiFi based speakers for my apartment -- preferably something small and reasonably portable that I can move from room to room (or alternatively, something cheap enough to get a unit/pair of speakers for the kitchen, one for the living room, and one for my bedroom). There are a lot of similar devices on the market now and I'm not sure how to start combing through them. [more inside]
Is there some sort of setup using both wireless headphones and stereo receiver with surround sound whereby two people can watch TV together at different volumes? [more inside]
With all this tech, surely there's a way to listen to music in my living room? [more inside]
Advice needed: how to put together a DIY, on-the-cheap home music system where I can listen to my music from any room in the house? [more inside]
What devices/components do we need to store our music library centrally and access it throughout the house? Also, what's a good wireless speaker solution? [more inside]
I'm technology speak impaired. Is there a wireless ... thing ... of some kind that we can somehow attach to our old (but terrific sound quality) stereo system so I can stream music to it from my phone or laptop? [more inside]
How to play MP3s from my 2nd floor computer on my 1st floor stereo? [more inside]
Sending my music across the room... So I have a 25 year old amp (Technics if it matters) and a record player on the ground floor of one end of my apartment. On the other end, on the second floor, is my computer, which has all my non-vinyl music on it. The music is on an external drive. The computer is an aluminum iMac. Is there a way to get my mp3s to play out of the stereo? Note that at present I have no wireless stuff except a d-link modem and whatever wireless is built into the computer. There are no walls between the computer and the stereo. Please explain it to me as if I was an idiot. A bit more info inside. [more inside]
How can I link my PC and stereo system in a wireless fashion? [more inside]
I'm wondering if there's a relatively easy way to play a live music stream off iTunes (KCRW) on my "real" stereo. I've got an iBook g4 and an Airport. Is there a way to wirelessly send that signal somehow into my stereo, so I can carry my laptop around to different locations but having the iTunes stream function like a regular FM signal on my stereo... any ideas?
In considering the home entertainment setup for the house I've just purchased, I'm looking for suggestions and advice on going wireless and streaming music from a PC to, well, everywhere. How best to do this? The main PC doing the work can be located anywhere, but I'd sure like some sort of control over what's playing in each of the main locations. Stereo in the living room, maybe some small speakers in the kitchen and upstairs... whatever. Your experience and product recommendations, please.
I'm looking for a wireless network client device that will access my main PC and allow me to listen to my MP3 library through my stereo. Ideally, the music selection process would be on the client end, accessible with a remote control, viewable on a television screen.
