I watched a film called "Return Of The Jedi" recently. Perhaps some of you have seen it. In the first act, a motley band of heroes executes an ingenious plan to rescue a comrade from an obese crime lord. Wait, what exactly was their ingenious plan? [more inside]

This is about as long a shot as possible, but here goes. On the opening day of Return of the Jedi (or shortly thereafter), a morning talk show was asking kids for their reaction to the film, and one of the little twerps blurted out the ending. Anyone else remember this? [more inside]

Are there Baby Ruths on Dagobah? Does anybody know what the prop guys used for Luke Skywalker's rations during his first dinner with Yoda? I remember it being this brown cylindrical chewy/crunchy thing. And if there is a star wars term for the Rebellion rations, that would be nice to know as well.

Examples of recurring in-jokes or motifs in film and television? Examples I can think of are the appearances of "1138" in George Lucas's movies (referring, of course, to THX-1138), and the numbers 1013 and 1121 (and, subsequently, the times 10:13 and 11:21) in The X-Files, being the birthdates of Chris Carter and his wife.

StarWarsGeekFilter: I'm trying to find out the origins of the Star Wars character Yoda. I currently live in Japan, and a buddy of mine who's lived here several years said that he met an old Japanese man who was Lucas' inspiration for the character--Lucas knew him somehow. Unfortunately I didn't get details and that buddy has left the country. So fast forward to a couple of months ago: I was watching TV and this guy was talking about the new Star Wars flick and they flashed up a picture of Yoda, and then next to it a pic of an old Japanese man named Yorida (family name), who is apparently still alive, living in some small town in Japan. My Japanese ain't so good so I couldn't really tell what they were saying about him. Does anyone have the skinny on this? My google-fu, as they say, fails me. [more inside]

I'm looking for a photoshop lampooning the remastered end of Return of the Jedi. It was a screen cap of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan, and Yoda, all standing next to each other, only there were 10-15 other people photoshopped in, including Bill and Ted. Does anyone have a link to it?

I'm exhausted searching the internet and wading through pounds of Star Wars merchandise. Links or titles greatly appreciated.

I'd like to watch the whole Star Wars series now that Episode III is going to hit cinemas. I was never really a big fan, and watched some of the installments with not much attention. In what order should I watch the episodes? 4-5-6, and then 1-2-3? Or 1-2-3, 4-5-6? [more inside]

Okay, despite my dislike for Star Wars, my father loved it. When I was about 3, he took us to a showing of the first three movies. I have not seen the fourth and fifth because I was waiting to do the same for the sixth. Now that my father has passed away (last year, don't worry) it reaffirms my desire to go to a showing of all three movies even though I'm not a fan of the series. Where/how can I get tickets before they degenerate into an eBay frenzy? Which is to say, I'd like to get them before they are scalped/resold, because I'm not interested in paying huge money. Any sites to watch/feeds I can monitor? [more inside]
