I'm designing a show this week (Iolanthe) which is far from my first lighting design, but I've never really gotten to experiment much with different gel color combinations. Which are your favorite combos (front, fill, back, side, etc.) for different set-ups. I'm looking for both the classic standards and less common combinations you've come across and enjoyed. I'm going to have a bit of free reign with this, so I'm curious to see what new (to me) things I might want to try. Rosco colors preferred.

I want to turn a short play into a short film. If completed, it'll be a low-budget affair seen at a few festivals and hopefully online; the play was first performed in 1990 and the playwright is still alive. How do I go about getting the rights to film his play, or see if I can even think about affording it?

Does anyone know if there is, or ever has been, a recognized significance in a character's exiting stage right or stage left? Like, do bad guys typically exit stage left, etc. I know almost nothing about theatre, and this seems like it would be an esoteric trope or something.
TIA.

Tomorrow I have to deliver a 2-hour training presentation in front of 80 employees. I loathe speaking in front of large crowds and suffer from crippling stage fright. Chances are I will be awake all night fretting the occasion and replaying worst case scenarios in my head. Any tips on how to relax and keep my anxiety at a minimum?

A friend of mine is in talks with a certain comic book writer to adapt a certain graphic novel for the stage. According to the writer's manager, they're interested in at least one run of the show, provided he can show them a satisfactory proposal. Great news! The only problem is, what should that proposal consist of and look like, for presentation to the writer and his manager?
