I ran the Yahoo spyware scan yesterday on my PC on impulse and after it ran the quick version, it recommended a full scan, which I ran. It found two "objects" of a trojan named Kollah.

My PC is running slow. So I went to ProcessLibrary.com to check the programs running in task manager. I've also got Malwarebytes and AVG Anti-Virus running. But these programs aren't impenetrable. Consequently, I've learned there are many legitimate programs that have double identities.

How paranoid should I be about my Windows XP Pro machine after hitting a dodgy site with Firefox 3.6, scanning with Microsoft Security Essentials, updating NoScript, scanning with MSE again, and finally using Windows to restore to yesterday's restore point, about 18 hours before hitting that site? Firefox is now missing NoScript completely, but it's been installed for weeks and surely should have been here yesterday morning. Has there been a known issue with NoScript, or am I just a special (and dim) snowflake?

Is there a way to trace down where a script is attempting to start from on Windows XP? I had a bit of a drive-by download happen, and I mostly removed the infestation with some antispyware tools. However I manually deleted one file before getting the tools to do their work, and so some remnant of the startup process is trying to start this 36525.js script

Can I use a flash drive to transfer files from university computer labs to my home computer without picking up nasty malware? I will often need to work on a number of 25-30 MB spreadsheets, both at home and in university computer labs, and I'm inclined to use a flash drive to transport the files. Because of download quotas, Dropbox might not work too well for me. Can I transport the files via flash drive while maintaining a reasonable level of security? If you use a flash drive on common use computers often, what's your method? Have you had security issues in the past? Thank you.

How do I manually remove win32/fakespypro (showed up from a link someone sent) from my Vista system? I googled, with no luck from any reliable sources. I have four antivirus pgms installed, they keep removing it but it comes back. I now have DOS issues, no internet, cannot execute most pgms.. I managed to get regedit up but cannot find the keywords to fix it. Oddly enough, my restore disk became full at the same time. Where are the entries in the registry?

My Mom wants to download and print coupons. I went as far as downloading the couponprinter software from the net and
Comodo warned against it. Is this a safe application? It is a form of spyware in that it collects data, though relying on your agreeing to it. I’m not a computer-talented person, but I know enough to have installed security software for her and to be wary.

I'm looking for a reputable computer repair shop in the Phoenix, AZ area. I lent my Compaq laptop (running vista) out to a friend and now it's totally owned by virii, and I don't have the time, patience, wherewithal to fix this level of problem.
Is there a good, independent (not Best Buy) place in town to get this looked at and potentially fixed for a reasonable price? Again, I'm not interested in fixing it myself, I'd rather pay someone else to be frustrated for me.

My google search results are redirecting me to certain sites (see 'more inside') due to adware/spyware that AdAware and Norton can't find. It's intermittent, and happening to both Firefox, IE, AND Chrome, although Chrome is choosing to simply not load the pages and gives me error messages. I can't google a solution because of the redirecting problem. Can you help?

What is this mysterious process that hijacked my shortcut? I was using Photoshop CS2 and entered the shortcut key for "Save for Web" (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S) and instead of getting the Save for Web dialog, a very minimalist login box appeared. Intrigued, I brought up the Task manager, right-clicked on the "Login" entry in the list, and selected "Go To Process." The process turned out to be C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\vidifker.exe.
