Not-so-smart-phone filter: I'm looking for a Sprint-compatible cellphone with a full keyboard and the ability to read/send email. The catch is, I don't need (and actively
don't want) more internet access than this; I'm already too connected as it is! Does a phone like this exist? Or is there a way I can juryrig one, as someone who's only half tech-savvy? Am I doomed to a flip-phone and a separate pocket email-reader thingy?

Currently, I have a Virgin Mobile PAYG smartphone. I'd like to get a phone on my family's Sprint plan instead (for the same monthly price as Virgin, I can get unlimited whatever). However, Sprint says they can't port my phone number because Virgin is a reseller of theirs. I've heard that you can port your number to Google Voice for a small fee, and then have Sprint port the number to a Sprint phone, but this advice was found on a forum somewhere and no one backed up the claim that it actually worked. Would it work? Have you done this? I'd really like to keep my phone number, and before I risk losing it, I'd like to know. Thanks.

I'm a brand new iPhone customer. Just 2 weeks ago I purchased my first iPhone from AT&T. I love the phone. But AT&T is very expensive (the cheapest plan is ~ $92 a month when taxes are included). I'm planning to use mostly data on my phone, so I think Sprint will be a better deal -- cheaper plan plus unlimited data. It would save me about $20 in the long run. I know that I wouldn't even use the full 200MB each month...but even with that taken into account, Sprint's deal is still cheaper.
I have 2 weeks to return the AT&T phone without paying the termination fee.
My question is, should I stick with AT&T and continue to pay almost $100 for a measly 200MB a month, even though their network is better? Or should I pay less for unlimited data on Sprint, even though they supposedly have a slow network?

How's the current Sprint voice/data coverage around Baltimore MD and College Park MD? I'm thinking of switching our family plan from T-Mobile to Sprint and wondering if any Maryland mefites can provide some idea of Sprint coverage. I don't really trust the
Sprint coverage maps but it implies that coverage is pretty good.

Time to pick a cell provider. The big thing is that I use my Android phone for everything. I don't want a computer so the 3G needs to be good.
It's between Verizon and Sprint because I know AT&T gets virtually no service.
So I humbly ask of you, which one isn't lying on their coverage map?

It's come the time to buy a new cellphone. I have a RAZR V2 and it's falling apart. My Verizon contract is up in November. Should I re-up with Verizon and stay on my family plan or should I break off and/or go to another carrier? And what phone should I look into? All I know is that I do not want a huge fold out QWERTY keyboard like a 16-year-old girl with a Sidekick and probably do not want a Motorola.
