What can I add to the washing cycle to discourage spiders from hitching a ride inside via my freshly air-dried laundry? [more inside]
I've spent the past week packing up all my belongings in preparation for moving to a new house tomorrow. A few days ago I discovered a large brown recluse spider under my staircase with numerous young or smaller spiders. I sprayed pesticide on them and continued packing upstairs... I never located any dead spiders and unfortunately I was dumb enough to sleep about 5feet away from where I originally found them. Up until this morning i didn't think much of the itchy bumps on my back...then my fiancée noticed them and clarified 3 bites on my lower back all matching the descriptions found online for the spider in question. Before I freak out and go to the ER could anyone enlighten on the venomousness of baby spiders compared to adults. Also how would multiple bites factor in? They've steadily have gotten worse and now appear red with a blister ... I'm assuming I was bitten 2-3 nights ago... Help!
I just found a black and red spider in my car that ran into the seatbelt hole. What do I do? [more inside]

A small-ish spider (slightly bigger than 1cm in diameter including the legs, I think) has set up home in my living room. [more inside]
I saw a cool spider and I'm curious what it is, but I didn't have a camera on hand. It was pale, about a centimeter long with brown stripes. At first I thought it only had 4 legs, but upon closer inspection I saw 4 more legs grouped together by where its "head" should be. 2 of those legs were slightly longer, almost looking like faux-antennas. I thought it was an ant at first, but it was clearly spinning a web.
We live in st Petersburg fla near the beach and intercoastal. This thing is dime sized, on a web, and making me want to stay at work..... What the heck is it? Arachnophobia trigger warning.... Picture here
My husband just sent me a picture of a spider he found in our kitchen today. Can anyone identify what it is and how high I should calibrate my level of terror (which is currently extremely, very high)? Here is photo of the terrible creature. Beyond identifying, should I be very alarmed about the possibility it may have laid eggs somewhere in our house? We live in Massachusetts, so I am guessing it hitchhiked in on bananas or something. To that point, I bought bananas on Sunday (and usually do a good check in the store for this very reason), and I did take said bananas down from their hanging perch this morning and discarded two that seemed to be rotting from the bottom (bottoms had turned brown). I am now imagining that our trash can is full of terrifying spiders. Help me, Metafilter!
My apartment has a beautiful walkway lined with flowers and overhanging tree branches. This is great except that spiders LOVE it here and I do not love spiders at all. I'm looking for a spider repellent that can be sprayed on the plants along the walkway so I don't have to walk through webs every morning and evening. The hitch is that the aforementioned flowers belong to my landlord, who I respect very much and who loves his plants, so the repellent can't have negative effects on them. [more inside]
What I've got here is a crappy picture of a spider. What I don't got here, is any idea of what kind of spider it is. Usually, I can figure this kind of thing out with internet a-googling/BugGuide-ing/etc, but I'm failing this time. [more inside]

-PC action-adventure game, mostly action, but I do remember simple adventure things like moving blocks or unlocking doors -first person view -can't remember how health stats and weaponry were viewed -Had to rescue a woman (go figure), but not sure if she was royalty or anything, just motivation to do the journey -Started in kobold (or kobolt) caverns, there was a spider cavern section where it was tunnels burrowed by the spiders themselves, a lava cavern/mining level where you had to break down a rock borer (might have been a laser) -mid to late 90's probably because it's graphics were close to Quake 2, just not as smooth [more inside]

I recently bought a new house and, after a few weeks of getting moved into the inside, I turned my attention to the shed. The previous owners left a LOT of stuff in there. Mostly cans and bottles of various things -- insecticide, paint, etc -- but the also left behind around a large population of spiders. I'd like to get rid of them or reduce their numbers to a more manageable level. [more inside]

Can you guess what's biting me? I've been getting a few extremely itchy red bumps, very much like mosquito bites, but they are not mosquito bites because they follow the pattern that chigger bites do: they're not on exposed parts of my skin, but instead under my clothing. It seems that something small is leaping onto me and then crawling until it finds itself confined by clothing, then settling down to bite. The bites aren't like chigger bites, though. [more inside]
Found this guy while cleaning out my shop, and, for the Pacific NW, it was a fairly impressive beast. I'd say, across the legs, it was roughly the size of a 50 cent piece. Here's a photo. [more inside]

Over the past week or so we've had an influx of spiders, mostly in the second floor of our house. As near as I can tell, they're comprised of daddy long legs and [ARACHNOPHOBE TRIGGER WARNING] these guys. I was hoping some of the more knowledgeable among you could help me identify this species and advise whether we should seek professional help. I'm also curious if anyone has any tips on how to minimize the spider population indoors (unfortunately, peaceful coexistence is not an option due to the feelings of some members of the household). Who is the screaming woman in the Samsung Infuse 4G commercial? The commercial features two men and a woman. The red-headed woman mistakes the image of a spider on the phone for the real thing and completely, utterly, totally freaks out. Her blood-curdling screams are fantastic. She looks a lot like Karen Gillan, but I really doubt Ms. Gillan has time to duck out on the doctor to shoot commercials.
