My Google skills are failing me.
I remember reading something about how there is no point in building a fast spacecraft and sending it out into the universe because at some point in the future we will build a faster ship that will overtake it, so we might as well wait, and wait, and wait, until we have the better technology and we never end up building a ship.
Does anyone know what this is called or have any extra information?

i ride a trail in melbourne called westerfolds. it is a 5km switchy trail, short climbs, short descents.
I am riding a scott spark dual suspension carbon fibre, which is a beautiful bike.
but my feeling is that something tailored for the ride would be quicker again.
so i want to build something that will do the trick.
extra note, i love climbing so i guess focus is on getting weight down for the final product.
this is an exercise in what is possible, as well as i just want to get quick.
please give me any technical suggestions? mostly i just want a front suspension with light wheels, but is there any other trick? [more inside]

I realize that this is not a medical forum, but I have been struggling with ADHD and a slower processing speed for most of my life. At times it has been somewhat manageable due to medications but right now it is not.
This issue affects every aspect of my life and I wish that it did not. If I could solve my memory and processing speed issue, I'd be willing to wager that I would have a good shot at turning around my life. Has anyone struggled with this sort of stuff? If so, what has worked for you? I've read that biofeedback has worked for some people but it is very expensive and not an option right now. I have also been told that doing things like crosswords and sudoku can be of benefit and I am not very good at either one of those.
I apologize, but if anyone has any solutions that has worked for them with regards to improving their memory and processing speed, please let me know regardless of how outlandish it might sound.
Ultimately, the big goal is to be able to become an efficient learner and to be able to play ball in the same park as everyone else, but to this day, that has not been the cards that I have been dealt. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I drive slowly on our rural roads because of wildlife and people, but this makes other drivers impatient. Should I consider a bumper sticker to acknowledge and explain my behavior, or just try to deal with it? Note: speeding up like a 'normal person', and plowing through baby deer and kids learning to ride bikes, is not an option. [more inside]

I've noticed recently that my "natural speed" for various mundane physical tasks eg hanging out washing, folding clothes, putting stuff away, and even getting out the car, grabbing my stuff and shutting the door, is slower than average. How can I get faster at these things without feeling like I'm rushing (and slightly stressed)? [more inside]

I have an Excel spreadsheet with just over 3000 sentences in column A. I need to go through looking at each one and entering some data into columns B-F. The first thing I have to enter is whether the sentence is in the past tense or present tense. If it is past tense, I can ignore it and not have to enter anything in columns C-F. I just move on to the next sentence. Is it going to be quicker if I go through the whole spreadsheet filling out column B first (past/present) and then do a second pass to fill out the rest of the details for the present tense sentences, or quicker to do it all at once for each sentence? Or is it a wash? [more inside]

Why is the Sandusky trial moving so quickly? In my area the high profile cases seem to take months, if not years, to come to trial, and then the trials themselves take weeks or months. Sandusky's trial started last week and I believe the judge told the jury that they will likely have the case on Thursday. Explain? [more inside]
