I have an Excel spreadsheet with just over 3000 sentences in column A. I need to go through looking at each one and entering some data into columns B-F. The first thing I have to enter is whether the sentence is in the past tense or present tense. If it is past tense, I can ignore it and not have to enter anything in columns C-F. I just move on to the next sentence. Is it going to be quicker if I go through the whole spreadsheet filling out column B first (past/present) and then do a second pass to fill out the rest of the details for the present tense sentences, or quicker to do it all at once for each sentence? Or is it a wash?

How can I set up a Windows 7 PC to be clean and stay clean? I don't want file bits and temporary files to clog it up, I don't want a million image files the size of a dot. I don't want this computer to run like molasses after a few years of web browsing and use. What is the best way to do that?

Why is the Sandusky trial moving so quickly? In my area the high profile cases seem to take months, if not years, to come to trial, and then the trials themselves take weeks or months. Sandusky's trial started last week and I believe the judge told the jury that they will likely have the case on Thursday. Explain?

My mom is getting married in 3 days to a man she's been dating for two months. She emailed me this news (not too weird, that's our main form of communication) last week and I have been in too much of a state of shock to respond. How do I respond to this? I'm still not even sure how to feel about it.

Let's say I want to buy a new external hard drive. I can pick a case with a particular interface (USB2/USB3/FW400/FW800/eSATA) and a mechanism with certain performance characteristics (RPM, latency, transfer rate, etc). Is there a straightforward heuristic that will tell me "if you're using interface X, don't bother buying a mechanism faster than Y."?

I'm looking for an affordable, 10 mile a day road bike for my dad for Father's day.
He doesn't want anything more expensive than a $500 USD bike, but I can't find it in my heart to buy him a $200 Schwinn from Walmart.
Can anyone suggest a road bike between $200-$500 for my dad?
He's about 6'1", 200 pounds, pants inseam 33".
Ordering online and having it delivered (USA) will work. I'm fairly handy with tools an can assemble it, but I'd rather order just 1 bike pre-packaged and not buy pieces individually and put them together myself (tires from one distributor, frame from another, etc.)
