How do I replace a blown woofer in a
Spica TC-60 loudspeaker? The
datasheet is here. I am generally capable, but don't know anything about building/repairing speakers. Can I get away with replacing just the one? Is there any danger of damaging the crossover (whatever that is)? The very nice guy from
Madisound recommended a
ScanSpeak replacement but how do I know if it will fit and/or work properly? If I'm reading the datasheet correctly, the original seems to be 180mm in diameter, and the replacement he recommended 170mm - is this a good idea? How can I tell if there's anything else I should try? What, if anything, do I seem to be overlooking? Thank you!

Connecting internal TV speakers to audio system. Is is possible? How could I screw up? The TV is already open and some wires disconnected.

Calling all DIY speaker enthusiasts! I'm packing off to college next year and my anticipated roomate and I are both interested in building a sound system of sorts. We are both somewhat experienced with audio systems (theatre sound techs) but have never tackled any sort of speaker construction project. More inside...

anyone made their own speaker mounts for walls? i can't find any to buy here and am considering what i can make myself (i don't own a welder, but could buy one and have done welding in the past - i also have assorted woodworking/handyman tools). i'm assuming that a fairly rigid mount is important for sound quality, would like it to look good, probably be adjustable for toe-in, and the speakers are fairly large/heavy (b&w 602s2). advice, please.
