A third-party website has created a "profile" for me on their own site, using my main Facebeook picture, which turns up on the first page of Google hits for my full name. It seems to be some kind of cheesy dating site and I really don't want it up there. I've never used the site, or interacted with it in any way (I don't use any FB apps at all, and am savvy enough not to click on spammy links). Do I have any recourse for getting this taken down?
My firm is about to send out a huge load of spam, thinking that they are "email marketing." I don't know how to stop it, or how hard I should try before I give up and sit back. [more inside]

I got a spam email from my friend who has a hotmail account. It looks like the spam has been sent to everyone in his hotmail distribution list. My question is, how did the hackers do this? Did they need his password in order to get access to his distribution list? As far as I know he is still able to use his account which puzzles me. Wouldn't a hacker (if he had the password) quickly change the password so that they could keep sending spam out on that account?
I have repeatedly unsubscribed from the Obama campaign/OFA text message list, and yet the texts keep coming. How can I actually get them to stop?

I receive a couple of non-Gmail-filtered spam emails a day, from a friend's compromised machine/account. I can easily deal with them / filter them / discard them. Besides hitting "Report Spam" I'm just wondering if there is a better place to report these consistent messages. I've been getting them for 6 months or so, doesn't seem the Big G's learning algorithm is ever gonna catch on...
My website got hacked the other night; a piece of code was inserted that generated spam. I'm technical enough to have found the offending code, and I simply removed it, but I'm baffled as to how the code got inserted in the first place…. (more inside) [more inside]

Are these Spanish text messages I'm getting just a spammer or is it safe to respond that they've got the wrong number?
Do these Spanish text messages I'm getting (which I have crudely translated for you) sound like a spammer fishing for valid numbers, or does it sound like a lovesick teen who has just gotten the wrong number? I want to tell them they've got the wrong number so they'll stop, but don't want to respond if it's a spammer. Language barrier and inexperience with text spam leave me unsure. [more inside]
