I currently have my iPhone4 on tmobile's $30 for 100 min and unlimited data, prepaid plan. I need to spend a week in Barcelona soon. I was told by customer service that I will not be able to roam in Barcelona using this plan; any tips for how to make my cell phone experience in Barcelona as close as possible to what I have here? We are visiting Barcelona, Spain for a week, and are having trouble finding decent restaurants that aren't geared towards tourists in the Eixample area. I figure that y'all might know where we can eat. [more inside]

I'm studying abroad this fall in Barcelona with pretty workable Spanish but very limited Catalan, and I'd love to do some work/activism/volunteering/organizing around queer or related issues (HIV/AIDS, youth development, homelessness, etc.) while I'm there. Is this possible given my language limitations? [more inside]

I'm going to Barcelona for a week at the end of May. I fly in at about 7pm on Saturday, and want to spend three days seeing the countryside around the city before spending the rest of the time in the city itself. [more inside]

My sister is travelling to Barcelona, Spain in November. She'll be at a hotel on the Plaza Catalunya for 3 days before leaving on a cruise ship. Sadly, she's on oxygen 24/7 and will be using a walker for short distances and an electric scooter to tour around the city. She'd like recommendations for food and must-see attractions within scootering distance. We've collected info from Google travel results, but they don't address accessibility concerns She plans to go to the Dali museum on a day trip, but other suggestions would be wonderful.

My son will soon be traveling to Barcelona, Spain to attend a five-month student exchange program there. He may end up staying longer. What are the best guidebooks for an American living in that city/region?

We're staying for four nights in Barcelona in mid September. First visit for both of us. Really would appreciate hotel/B&B recommendations, and of course what sights and restaurants the hive mind recommends.

After some recent immersion in learning Spanish, watching Spanish films and going to Spanish conversation Meetups, I have realised I might want to have a go at teaching English as a Second Language in either Barcelona or Madrid. I have a few questions about the feasability of this at my age (42) given that the Spanish economy is not in great shape and my resume has a massive hole in it. [more inside]

Simple question: Where do we need to eat and sleep in Madrid and Barcelona?
We are planning a summer trip to Spain (4 nights in Madrid, 2 nights in Barcelona, 1 night in Girona).
The Girona portion of the trip is set -- dinner at El Celler de Can Roca
for an extravagant birthday experience.
What we need are suggestions for restaurants and hotels in Madrid and Barcelona.
(We're also planning day trips to Segovia and Toledo, so you could include lunch spots in those places if you'd like.)
A few notes: we are fairly sophisticated dinners, but we also love simple, straightforward food-of-the-people. Our hotel tastes run toward contemporary/modern, but we're not opposed to something classic -- we just want to avoid international chains.
Thanks for any/all suggestions!

I've just finished business school and have landed myself an internship at a very respectable multinational company in Barcelona, Spain. The internship is great, the salary dreadful. So, I'm now in a position where I can barely afford to live and need to find something else to suppliment my income.
Can someone give me an idea of what formalities I need to address in order to sell food in the streets of Barcelona? [more inside]

I'm going to Barcelona this weekend and wanted to get a book for the flight and for when I'm relaxing over there. Does anyone know of any good books that feature the city quite prominently? I'm happy to consider fiction, non-fiction, sporting, historical or political books, anything that you might have enjoyed and that you think might help me engage that little bit more with what Barcelona has to offer.

Any recommendations for hotels in Barcelona Spain?
We're going to be there for a few days at the end of June, and need a recommendation for a hotel that would accommodate a family of four. Most of the hotels we've found only take two people in a room. Any thoughts?
