I need to get out of Manhattan and spend a weekend in a quiet place specializing in relaxation, meditation and massage. I don't want to travel more than an hour. I have no car. Cost isn't an issue. I just need sanity & isolation. Where to go? [more inside]

My friend and I want to take a weekend trip to Colorado to escape the heat (not our husbands--no seriously) and have a fun, relaxing girls' weekend. Help! [more inside]

I have to vote in the upcoming Belgian election. I was born in raised in the USA, but have been to Belgium many times, and speak Dutch fairly proficiently. I can't, however, really get a handle on the platforms of the various political parties - help me figure out what they stand for, or where I can find official statements in English. I'm leaning toward Groen or SPA at the moment, so information regarding them would be particularly appreciated.
I want to buy a gift certificate to a day spa for a twenty-something gay man with upscale conservative taste. I'm looking for a place that's sleek, sophisticated and oriented towards men, with good massage and other services, high standards for service and cleanliness, and ideally also offering lunch and cocktails. The kind of place where someone could lounge around all day drinking a mimosa and reading the paper, wearing slippers and a robe. It needs to be in San Francisco proper, not elsewhere in the Bay Area. [more inside]
Meeting up with a friend in Marseille and taking the car down to the Pyrenées for a few days of fun and relaxation (aka vacation). Have never been to Andorra before, nor this region. We're keen on both gastronomic (local food and wine) and bodily pleasures (spa's, massage), which are much needed since we're both in the software development line of work. Here's the hotel and surroundings (sport hotel village)
There's an "infra-red" area at the local Korean Spa/Bath House. What's up with that? [more inside]

Considering getting a spa for an Oregon beach house and have never owned one. We don't rent the house out and family is there about twice a month in summer/fall and perhaps less than once/month in the winter/spring. Interested in advice, considerations for such a set up particularly around necessity of hiring someone for maintenance and temperature/circulation settings while we are gone. BTW, freezing is not an issue, but it does stay pretty consistently cool (50s) most of the time.
My girlfriend and I are going to Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) for a week, and she wants to book a day at a spa there. The spa wants payment up-front and via Paypal. Is this a scam? [more inside]

After a trip to Vegas, the desire to visit a spa like the ones there has come over me. The spa in Vegas was sweet. Pay for a day pass and get to use a Sauna, Whirlpool, Steam room, cold dip pool and more... Anyone know of one near Frederick, MD like this? Baltimore and DC would be options, but would prefer one closer.
LA Baths? I went to the Kabuki in San Francisco and loved it. Now I'd like to find something similar in Los Angeles. Japanese, Korean, Roman, Russian baths, whatever, with the following caveats: I'm a dude, and I'm not looking to have sex there. [more inside]

I live in Jerusalem and am going to Tel Aviv for the weekend. I really don't know the area, and am looking for: 1) A good day spa in Tel Aviv Yafo. My solid foam mattress is slowly killing my back, and I am in dire need of a good, strong massage. 2) Discotheque recommendation 3) Other recommendation? Anything? Cool place to visit, shop, good restaurant, anything. I live so close there's a good chance I'll come back too, so it doesn't have to all fit into a weekend. Thanks

Please suggest destinations for an off-the-beaten-path weekend honeymoon this June. Criteria: close enough to St. Louis to fit a trip into three or four days including travel time; $1,000 to $2,000 total; somewhere beautiful, ocean is best; romantic but not in your standard champagne-and-strawberries way. We love the outdoors, arts and culture, great food, the environment, and discovering unexpected treasures when traveling. [more inside]

Where should I take my partner for our anniversary in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico? We're looking at the two-night packages at Las Rosas, but would like suggested alternatives, preferably smaller and more intimate. Also looking for good spa and massage recommendations. If San Felipe is waaay better, please let me know. I researched it online and it looks like a marina and golf courses for American weekenders, which is sort of what we want to avoid. Oh, we're also interested in a day hike, maybe inland in the mountains.

Howdy folks. I've got a friend in Tampa, FL, who is having a rough couple of weeks. She mentioned that she really needs a professional back massage. She's not the type of person to do something like that for herself, so I'd like to do it for her. I've never set foot in Tampa, so I have no idea where to begin, but I reckon one or two mefites might be from the area and have some experience with Tampa massage therapists. So this is what I need: recommendations for a good massage therapist/spa in or around Downtown Tampa (I can be more specific if necessary) that can take an order from me, preferably online, and get some form of gift certificate to my friend by mail. Thanks in advance.
