what are some popular resources for massage theapists and spa owners?

i'm just finishing up my bands latest cd, who's working title is "music for spas" (we're the house band at a resort/spa in bali) i'd like to sell it outside the resort and our shows, and in order to do that i'm going to have to promote it - mainly online as our budget is limited, but i'm willing to pay for some ads here and there if i think it will help out album reach a wider audience. tropical snowflakes inside! Please help me find a wellness escape where I can recover (East Coast)

One of my oldest friends just died and I'm feeling serious Crohn's pain starting to creep up again, threatening my remission. Everything in my life right now is stressful and exhausting, and I know that if I do nothing I will have a full-bore flair on my hands by thanksgiving. I need help finding a health resort/ wellness retreat on the East Coast - optimally between DC and Boston. My wealthy uncle says money is no object, so my only real stipulation is somewhere that isn't too scary/isolated for a young woman alone. [more inside]

Beard trimming/shaping services in Austin?

My beau has decided he'd like to neaten up his beard, and I suggested finding a professional to do it the first time. (After that, it'll likely be easier to maintain.) Any recommendations for a beard trimmer or shaper/men's grooming salon/private individual in Austin? (Obligatory beard-and-kitten picture.)

How can I keep my bath warm for longer periods of time?

- I live in an apartment and the water heater does not give an entire 40g of hot water [the capacity of the water heater and approximate capacity of the tub]. - I would like to relax in the bath for at least 20 minutes or more. - I've tried boiling water, aquarium heater [fail, takes to long to heat], basalt stones [too small to matter]. Do you have any ideas for lengthening my bath time? My water goes lukewarm after ten minutes, almost chilly.

Where is the real life Rancho Relaxo?

My 40th birthday present to myself is to run away for several days by myself to indulge in restful solitude, nature walks, spa treatments and room service. Price is no object, but would prefer it to be within driving distance of Portland. Requirements and preferences within... [more inside]

The economics of small manicure/pedicure spas in NYC

Good day spas in and around Anchorage AK?

I'm spending next week with family in southcentral Alaska and I'd like to take my mom to a nice day spa in the area. I'm not having much luck getting a sense of what places are good from online searches. I'm basically looking for a great, warm atmosphere and quality massages. It doesn't have to be super-fancy (but that would ok too!), but it does need to be an enjoyable place--not run-down or unfriendly, if that makes sense. Are there any hidden gems that I should look into?

Help me plan my spa week

I am going to spend a week's vacation at a resort that has a spa. This isn't really a spa getaway, but I've been to this resort before and the spa is very good.
