What is your favorite South Park episode? I recently discovered South Park episodes are free online, and I'm getting back into watching it.

What are your favorite or the classic episodes from season 7 on? I have a pretty crude sense of humor, so don't hold back.

Thanks!

Island of Dr. More-asses....

How can I make a monkey with four asses? Hypothetically of course.

I'm studying for my developmental biology final and one of the study questions asks how one could conceivably create web-footed mice as designer pets. (One answer involves preventing inter-digital cell death by inhibiting bone morphogenic protein (BMP) signaling. One could do this with strategically placed beads soaked soaked in Gremlin protein.)

So the natural extension of this question is: what if I want to make designer pets with webbed feet and four asses? How could I accomplish this?

In terms of what constitutes an ass: I am less interested in anuses than buttocks. Four sets of round bilaterally symmetrical buttock muscles coated in subcutaneous fat would be the gold standard. And they can be anywhere on the organism although dorsal positioning seems more traditional than ventral.

Don't worry, I'm not actually making any little monsters. I am curious about non-limb muscle development and I'm having trouble finding information about it. So I'm interested in any ideas on how the classic four-assed-monkey could be made. Any information on the developmental regulation of musculature would be helpful as well as any info on butt-region related signaling.

Chocolate Salty Balls of Truffle

So my wife is going as Chef to the Rock Star themed potluck I previously asked about. Now we have to come up with a recipe for Chocolate Salty Balls. Anyone have a recipe for a sort of insanely good trufflely chocolate ball that we can lightly coat in some good salt? What would be a good salt to use? I've been looking online for an actual recipe inspired by South Park, but the ingredients listed in the song itself are very vague (2 bags of sugar?!?) and lack salt. Others, like this one, seem... dubious. However, they match the version that Isaac Hayes put into his cookbook.

We'll probably give that a stab, but I think that making an insanely good chocolate truffle and rolling it in some really good fleur de sel or something would be even better than graham crackers and corn syrup.

So, does anyone have any advice on a really really great chocolate truffle recipe, and also a really good salt that we could use to put on it? I'm sure the combination would work, as chocolate covered pretzels are awesome.

You've never given up on anything in your life and you aren't going to start now!

What movie or TV show were they parodying in one specific scene on South Park last night? (Spoilers within) No, the answer is not Stargate. :-)

Please forgive my occasionally hazy recall about last night's episode ("Imaginationland Pt. II"), most of this will be largely paraphrased.

On last night's South Park, there's a sequence where Kyle temporarily "dies" after his encounter with Manbearpig. The doctors hit him with the defibrillator twice and then tell Cartman "he's gone".

Cartman freaks out and begins frantically giving Kyle chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth. He says things like "don't you die on me". Then he demands the doctors use the defibrillator again, then he goes back to the compressions and the mouth-to-mouth.

The scene culminates in Cartman hitting Kyle on the chest and saying something close to "you've never given up on anything in your life and you aren't going to start now". After one last CPR session, Kyle coughs up some water and comes back to life.

The whole sequence is maddeningly familiar and I know it is lifted shot-for-shot and line-for-line from a movie or a TV show. I'm almost positive it's something I have seen more than once.

The things that I remember definitely being from the original film/show are the 2 defibs, followed by the pronouncement of death from the doctor, then the freak out/CPR from a primary character, then the third defib, then more CPR, then the formerly lifeless person coughs up water and is revived.

I'm vaguely picturing an older person (maybe a father?) trying to bring back a younger person (maybe a daughter?), but that may not be right.

The South Park BBS and Wikipedia both say this is supposed to be a specific scene in the Abyss, but I'm kind of skeptical since I have never seen the Abyss, but I have definitely seen the scene that is the source of this parody.

Anyone with any ideas?

What movie were they referencing with the whole Hot Wheels sequence in the latest episode of South Park? Asked this in the South Park thread, no avail. Tried looking at fan websites, but I guess it went over their heads. And now it's bugging me.

What's the new South Park Commercials modeled after?

It's driving me crazy. There's these new South Park commercials on Comedy Central that's a take on some interstitial, show intro, or commercial from my childhood (born in '76). It's the quasi-pinball roller coaster ad, where the silver ball goes by and flips up 3 flags. What are these ads a parody of? I'm thinking it had to be part of a show, or common commercial/interstitial on nickelodeon or PBS or the like... way back in the early 80's
