Where would you live if you could live anywhere?

I just finished undergrad. I don't have any particular attachment to this city and I don't think I can handle another winter here, so I want to buy a one-way ticket to somewhere interesting and find a new place to live. I've done this before and I'm not really concerned about the logistics, I just need somewhere cool to start my life. I want to leave the US and I'm thinking South America, but all suggestions welcome! [more inside]

What can I do south of the border?

What is the English teaching situation like in Latin America right now? I'm looking for something to do for July and about half of August, and I have a TEFL certificate and some experience. Other suggestions for spending worthwhile time down there welcome. Sidenote: I don't speak Spanish, but learning would be a big incentive for going. [more inside]

Help my family break out of the traveling box.

My dad is turning 50 in May, and my mom wants to surprise him by taking the family on a cruise. I'm trying to come up with better places to go for a week on $4000 (for four people), but I've only ever traveled by myself. [more inside]

Southbound

Last summer I went backpacking by myself in Europe. This summer I want to do something crazier, so I'm thinking of taking a bus from Las Vegas as far south as I possibly can. Does anyone have any tips? Is this feasible, or even sane? [More inside] [more inside]
