I'm making a video about modern art. Especially about the Centre Pompidou in Paris. As I've stated in other AskMe's, I'm completely music illiterate. Help me find songs or classical pieces that scream: modernism, modern art, modern things, for the soundtrack of my 6 minute video.

I watched Darjeeling Limited
/ Hotel Chevalier
a while ago and I fell in love with one of the songs featured in these movies. The song is Where do you go my lovely by Peter Sarstedt. To me it conveys sophistication, melancholy and nostalgia. What other songs from this era would I probably like?

I'm editing a video of my kids on a rocking horse and I need to add music. I would love some rodeo music or something cowboy-ish, but I am completely illiterate when it comes to music. Any suggestions?

I’m in love with The Clash at Demonhead from the Scott Pilgrim movie. Unfortunately, they are fictional and Metric, the band that arranged it doesn’t have that harder sound I’m liking in TCAD. What real band sounds like them? (Strong female lead on vocals, good rhythm, slightly distorted sound, anthem-y? and yes I have heard of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs).

Where have I heard Debussy's La Mer
before? It's driving me crazy. I feel like it was the soundtrack to some kind of cartoon or movie, but I don't remember which one. I know it wasn't Fantasia. Can anyone help me out here?

Can you suggest suitable soundtrack music to accompany a Google Earth flyover created from helicopter GPS data? The terrain is dramatically mountainous for the most part. (Or conversely, what would be amusingly inappropriate

What film soundtrack (or radio show?) is being sampled in the Cabaret Voltaire song "The Arm of the Lord
"? The relevant sample starts about 40 seconds in. I'm not asking about the bit of Manson interview footage at the beginning of the track. Thanks!

Theme song filter: I really like the song that is the opening to the Swedish Chef skit on the Muppet Show. IMDB seems to suggest that there is a recording of this song that I could buy, but I can't find anything on Amazon or Google.
So, I query the hive mind: anyone know where I can get this song, preferably without the chef "singing along"?

Soundtrackfilter: Please recommend to me mostly-instrumental, sometimes dark, contemplative soundtrack albums (or even compilations or regular albums) in the vein of Michael Andrews' work for Donnie Darko
or Robin Guthrie and Harold Budd's soundtrack for Mysterious Skin

Music recommendations, please. I am putting together a little video to celebrate my doggie's birthday, and need recommendations for a soundtrack, preferably acoustic guitar, something happy--something that says "I love this dog as much as it is possible for one being to love another; in fact, she saved my life" but without lyrics because I can't stand sappy crap like that. Yes, I am a lameass when it comes to music. Yes, I needed help choosing music for my own wedding. Thank you for your help.
