There was an advertisement for the Zune music device
tonight before the Borat movie. The Zune advertisement had a song playing in it that was something like "every night is Saturday night" or "every day is Saturday day" or something. And I can't seem to find it online - any ideas? Sort of an alt/pop song.

Name that (commercial) tune! Ask.com is currently running a television ad that features no spoken script. The ad begins "Why is Ask.com the fastest-growing search engine?" in white text against a red background, and the ad continues with snippets of newspaper reviews, etc. There is an electronic/techno background soundtrack. What song is playing, and is it available for purchase?

I once heard a radio program (probably on NPR or the BBC) about the song "Willow Weep for Me." They claimed it was an extraordinary song for two reasons: it was written by a woman (rare in 1932) and there was striking tempo change in the middle of the song. However, in most recordings, the musicians skip the tempo change. But on the show I listened to, they played a rare recoding that featured the change. I want that recording. [more inside]

This American Life
has at least a dozen instrumentals that they use over and over as background music. The Happy Flute Song, the Things Are Kind of Tense Song, and so on. I've really grown to like many of them, but I cannot identify any of them. Can TAL fans identify any of the standard music beds?

Remember the computer game, "The 7th Guest"? If you put the game CD into a stereo instead of into your computer, there was a song that played that I don't think was found anywhere else in the game. Anybody know what it was called and who it was by?

For theatre (and other) projects, I sometimes need music that I can't find on CD. Is there a service that lets you email sheet music to a musician, who then a musician records the song and sends it back to you as an mp3? I'm looking instrumental music -- no vocals. Just a piano/keyboard is generally fine. [more inside]

Please help identify this comic act and/or the specific song - it has been stuck in my head for ages and is driving me nuts! I saw this one afternoon on one of Comedy Central's ad nauseam stand-up showcase type shows. I have no idea what specific show it was - I was only half paying attention, and so I missed the name of the act. It was a musical group with a female singer, and they did a sort of risque, almost burlesque-style song about... well, weeners.
Here is the refrain:
"Even in my wildest dreams I never did
imagine anything could ever be so big"
Interspersed are a number of humorous double entendres. [more inside]

[NoveltySongFilter] I am compiling lists of the following:
1. Bad hiphop tracks from the soundtracks of films from the late 80s and early 90s that summarized the plot during the end credits. You remember...Organized Krime's joint from the end of TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze
or Tag Team's reprise of their hit "Whoomp, There it is" for Addam's Family Values
2. Hidden, unlisted and secret joke tracks from the end of albums. Off the top of my head I can only think of more dreck from the mid-90s like Korn's track with Cheech Marin from Follow the Leader
or the Green Day track "All by Myself" from Dookie
3. Backwards masking. Kiss and the Beatles were accused of doing it so bands like Ministry thought it would be a good idea. Who else?
4. Funk or soul songs with theremin.
Please add to my list. [more inside]

what's the name of that song, couple years back, cello, acoustic guitars, male and female duet, b&w video with the camera slowly spinning from the inside of a circle of singers/musicians and a portion of the lyrics go something like "
come knock me down" (or maybe it was 'tornado'?) is it just me or is it impossible to search for song lyrics on the intarwebs!
