I love the song Where do you go my lovely, what other songs are similar?

I watched Darjeeling Limited / Hotel Chevalier a while ago and I fell in love with one of the songs featured in these movies. The song is Where do you go my lovely by Peter Sarstedt. To me it conveys sophistication, melancholy and nostalgia. What other songs from this era would I probably like?

Is cutesy female singing a genre?

The Pee wee's Playhouse theme song...as performed by Cyndi Lauper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pee-wee's_Playhouse#Soundtracks)...Cyndi's voice in that, to me, harkens back to music of the 20s. Is there a name for this sort of cutesy style of female singing? Is this a genre that I can actually seek out?

Soundtrack Issues

After recently having seen The Life Aquatic, I noticed that the soundtrack missed a song from one of the key scenes in the movie. This is not the first time I have come across this phenomenon and I wondered if anyone knew whether it was a legal issue with copyright or something as mundane as CD capacity. After all, if an artist/label allows their song to feature in a movie, why not on the soundtrack too?
