I'd like to write arrangements of folk songs for (one) guitar and (one) voice, but I don't know where to start. More details below the fold. [more inside]
I always hear the very end of this song on the local rock station, but never any other part! Since much of what the station plays (94.1 WHJY, "94 HJY" in Providence, RI) could be called "classic rock", I'm going to assume it falls into that category. A butchered GarageBand approximation of the outro is attached. (Note that the actual outro is played on an electric guitar - it's actually chords.) [more inside]
Yesterday I heard this song in a Chipotle, but I regularly hear a snippet of it on some NPR (specifically WGBH, Boston) program. A link to my sluggish GarageBand interpretation is attached; the actual song is at a much, much faster tempo. I don't remember any vocals. http://www.watzatsong.com/en/name-that-tune/366507.html What's it called?

Calling all guitar players: Looking for popular songs that can easily be played and sung by a single person with an acoustic guitar without losing too much. Basically, the kind of songs you can put in a set list where people's reactions are to immediately say, "Hey, I really like that song," followed immediately by "and hey, that sounds pretty close to the original too!" Also, very important: Any song should be playable by a *mediocre* guitar player. [more inside]

A few years ago, I remember grooving on a funky version of Auld Lang Syne. It was by a male artist, vocals plus either solo guitar or guitar driven. It was in a folk-reggae style similar to I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. Ring any bells?
What are some songs featuring acoustic guitars, rather than electric, that could still be considered "metal"? [more inside]
My 9th grade son has taught himself guitar and he's thinking about entering the school talent show. He's trying to pick a good song that he can play and sing, and I'd like to help him out. What's a good song for one young man and an acoustic guitar and a high school audience? [more inside]

Name that tune please :: PBS is great, and the songs in their promos are actually just as good. Currently running is a promo that ends with the words; "Be More ~ ThirteenHD" (this is PBS Thirteen's High-Def channel which they broadcast in NYC & possibly elsewhere?). The music which accompanies it is a piece that I'd classify as sort of a Blues/Rock/Jazz instrumental. My Question: Name that tune!?! [more inside]
Needed: "Romantic songs of the 1930s/40s/50s that are very easy to play on guitar". My brother has asked me to sing "something" at his mostly secular wedding on August 13. No piano available, *maybe* a guitar player of unknown skill level. He seems to want something romantic and 1930s-50s American pop. He's mentioned "It's Only a Paper Moon" with enthusiasm, but I'm not sure that would be easy enough to play on guitar. [more inside]
