Morbidfilter: What Jazz greats should I see live...before they die?

So I was lucky enough to see Ray Charles before he died at the Hollywood Bowl. And Sarah Vaughn at the Blue Note in the 80's. And Ella at Radio City around the same time. But I never got to see Sinatra. Or Sammy. Or Nina Simone. Largely because I couldn't afford it. So now it occurs to me I can. And Southwest tickets aren't that expensive if I want to go anywhere in the US. So who should I see among the greats - who are still out there playing - before it's too late?

Song lyrics search--Humdrum Blues, unknown female singer

Heard a song at work on the Muzak, googled it, couldn't find it. It was a female singer, jazzy-sounding. I recall her mentioning the "humdrum blues." The lyric I wrote down was "work like a dog but I'm mighty poor." I googled "humdrum blues," but what I found was a different song, and googling the lyrics got me nothing.

Help me find some good blues-rock songs

Can you think of any other blues-rock songs with the same rhythmic pattern as Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" and ZZ Top's "La Grange"?

A hole in his love bucket?

BluesFilter: A couple of years ago, a friend and I were flipping past the blues channel on XM radio, and stumbled across the one of the funniest songs I've ever heard. I want to find a copy for my friend for a Christmas gift. Of course, I have no idea what the song actually is. Help me, O HiveMind! [more inside]

Name That Tune :: PBS ThirteenHD Promo

Name that tune please :: PBS is great, and the songs in their promos are actually just as good. Currently running is a promo that ends with the words; "Be More ~ ThirteenHD" (this is PBS Thirteen's High-Def channel which they broadcast in NYC & possibly elsewhere?). The music which accompanies it is a piece that I'd classify as sort of a Blues/Rock/Jazz instrumental. My Question: Name that tune!?! [more inside]
