I regularly use ffmpeg to encode videos (from mpeg2 to mpeg4) for my ipod. I've been doing this for nearly a year with no problems. Now, every time I start an encode, my system is suddenly under a lot of pressure - I can't use any other application. I've got a new webcam, and I'd like to find some free, spyware-less software that would monitor the image and email an alert to me if it changes. Anyone know of any good programs? [more inside]
Potentially-really-obvious-mac-question-filter. Why does Safari want to open MP3 streams in QuickTime no matter what I do - and how can I stop it?
Does anyone know of a good, reliable free/shareware OS X app that can do simple backup/synchronise operations. Something like Syncback on windows. Thanks.
