Came across this sofa and loveseat at a consignment shop last week and wondering if it's worth ~$1000 that the owner is asking for them.

I need to buy a couch, and for it to be comfy, decent-looking, relatively inexpensive, and bedbug free. I have an idea of the dimensions that my place can accomodate, but almost nothing else. Right now, I don't even know, what I don't know. How do?! [more inside]

Where do you go when you've graduated from IKEA and are ready for decent, but not necessarily heirloom quality furniture? We're just hoping to find some stuff to carry us through the next 8-10 years, or is that unrealistic? How much should we honestly expect to spend? [more inside]

We are moving into our first flat! Hooray! However, it is unfurnished, so we need to buy us some furniture - specifically, a good sofa and a good dining/gaming table. If we go Ikea, what's the sweet spot between price and durability? [more inside]

We have a dream... to rearrange our media room so that the couch is not against the wall. The problem? It's this sofa
, and the cushions do fall off after a few minutes of relaxed sitting, despite being weighted. We considered putting a heavy piece of furniture behind it, but that's not ideal as it takes up all the wonderful space we are trying to get back. Can you help us add a back to our couch? [more inside]

I'm looking for the perfect futon (sofa-bed) in the UK (preferably the South East) that will work equally well as a bed or sofa, long-lasting, and easy to convert. [more inside]

A friend of mine is hunting for a sofa similar to this one
- which was available at World Market until they pulled it a few months ago. Does anyone know where I can buy either this exact sofa, or something similar (a nice, minimalist, wood-framed three-seater)? [more inside]

Leather versus fabric furniture pros and cons. Is it worth the extra cost to get a couch in leather? This is regarding a Room and Board sofa, so if you have an opinion on R&B in general, feel free to join in. [more inside]

By chance do you or someone you know own an Armen (Art) Furniture sofa, and if so, how does it rate it in terms of quality and comfort? Are you satisfied with it? I'm particularly interested in the Armen 725 Centennial. [more inside]

Anyone have any experience with Urban Barn furniture, good/bad/otherwise? I'm considering buying a used sofa and chair, but wondering if I should take the money and buy a lesser name new set elsewhere, instead. [more inside]

Just bought a new very light beige color sofa and would like to protect it from spills and stains. Any advice?
I've read good reviews about "scotchguard". Any tips on that?

I just moved and have a new job that will, fortunately, give me the opportunity to purchase nice furniture for the first time in my life. I'm more into modern designs, but with a quality touch. If there is a manufacturer that makes super high quality, modern stuff that would be the ticket for me. Anyway, I'm looking for online stores to shop on. I'm looking for literally everything a typical two person home needs. We currently have no furniture save a recliner, so we need a lot!
I'll admit I don't know the first thing about design, furniture history, etc. But I do want to learn. The ideal shops will offer quality and education.
I'm not looking for IKEA or super cheap options.
Basically, just give me some links of some kick ass online furniture and furnishing joints!

Any advice for how to shop for a decent couch/sofa?
I know how much space I have for it (~7 feet), and that I want to be able to lie my 6 feet of body down on it to watch tv in comfort. What else does one look for?
