I am potentially going to be dating a friend of mine... one thing that has me apprehensive is that I know she is a pretty light sleeper, and while I'm not the worst snorer around, I do snore. I am in ok shape (definitely not overweight), and am not really sure that there is anything that can be "done" about it, but I was wondering if there is anything that actually helps with it? I suppose she could get ear plugs, but she says that it's hard for her to sleep with them. Are there super fancy custom ear plugs that don't feel as invasive? It would be very frustrating if, of all things, this was a source of tension...

My husband snores incredibly loudly. It makes sleeping next to him very difficult. Are there any unconventional recommendations - i.e. beyond drugstore earplugs and a white noise machine - to tolerate it? This is starting to really fray our marriage. [more inside]

I snore. Loudly. Living alone I don't think about it much, but while visiting home my brother is stuck using earplugs to dim the noise through walls. What can I do to limit this? Looking for updates on a similar question asked a few years back. [more inside]

Anti-snoring devices? I've tried a few, but do you know of any that work? My snoring is in the back of my throat, and isn't
linked to whether I lie on my back etc. Read on to learn what I've tried. [more inside]

Has anyone successfully used non-surgical alternatives to CPAP therapy (oral appliances, special pillows, etc) for treatment of mild-to-moderate sleep apnea, or been able to stop CPAP therapy after losing weight? [more inside]

During a recent storm here in Belgium, the walnut tree in our garden was blown down. Now we have this huge (about 7 meters long) tree corpse in our garden. I could cut it into firewood, but it seems a waste of all that beautiful wood. [more inside]

Can something non-traumatic end up as PTSD-related trauma? I already have a diagnosis, I'm just very confused about something that's been happening lately. New therapist doesn't start until next month, so no luck there - and I'm somewhat nervous about bringing this up, because it seems so STUPID.

I'll be going to the hospital for a CPAP fitting tomorrow night, which is a follow-up to a sleep study I had a few months ago. I've been reluctant to schedule the follow-up because in the previous sleep study I barely slept at all. I'd really prefer not to repeat that... [more inside]

SnoreFilter: Apparently, I have a giant uvula. One that's flopping around in my throat at night and keeping my girlfriend up with its monsterous noise. At least, that's what the ENT doctor said. She recommended Radiosurgery
to either shave the uvula down or remove it completely and make more space in my throat. Has anyone heard of/had this procedure done?

... some, ooh, let's say about 5% of the population has it. I'm starting to think I might, too: not feeling rested in the morning, snoring at night, breathing stops irregularly, etcetera. Anyone got personal experiences, stories, or advice to offer? I'm not running to the doctor yet... unless y'all scare me into it! [more inside]
