My wife and I had an amazing cheese at a party last night. It was soft, about the size of a typical wedge of grocery store brie, but with a black-and-white speckled rind and a very pungent odor. Any ideas?
I was carrying paint thinner in my backpack, and it spilled (probably about 250 ml)! I've tried carpet cleaner, laundry detergent, and even shampoo (!) to get the smell out and let it soak over night but it still smells really strongly! Any advice for what might work to get rid of the smell?
When my neighbor moved out, I inherited a few pots and some soil. I suppose they're more like tubs, really (24 inches long, 10 wide, 7 deep). I have zero gardening skills. The tubs sit on my balcony at the same height as my window, and I would love to grow something that is very fragrant in them. I love the idea of having my window open in the spring and summer, and having a beautiful smell wafting in. I live in Portland, OR, and my balcony faces east. I want to reiterate that I have zero gardening skills, but if given specific instructions, I can keep plants alive. What should I grow? The easier, the better!

Smelly Shoes: I wore my favorite pair of shoes to one of the hottest, most humid 7 weeks of Vermont summer in recorded history this year, and my shoes stink. I've tried spraying them full of Odor-Eaters spray powder (With Zorbitex™!) and leaving them alone for a while, and while they smell fine when left alone, they reek after an hour or so of use.
